Site selection of dairy farm

The location of dairy farms should be in line with the local land use development planning and the construction and development planning of villages and towns. At least 300m away from residential areas, high dry, flat, slope less than 20 °, easy to drain, ventilation to the sun, sufficient light, no pollution sources nearby, soil quality in the field in line with the provisions of GB15618, from the main roads, factories and mines, enterprises, other pastures, livestock products processing plant at least 1000 meters away, adequate power supply, good communication infrastructure, there are sufficient clean water nearby, easy access. Attention should be paid to the construction of farms in flood-threatened areas such as water reserves, tourist areas, nature reserves, areas with serious environmental pollution, areas prone to livestock and poultry epidemics, valleys and depressions.

Dairy farm planning

Large-scale dairy farms should have facilities such as disinfection room, disinfection pool, veterinary room, adult dairy house, delivery room, calf house, breeding cowshed, observation cowshed, isolated cowshed, feed room, silage tank, ammoniation tank, manure yard, manure treatment facility, loading platform, garage, office, dormitory and so on. These facilities are arranged according to their functional zones, and the whole field forms three functional areas: life management area, production area and isolation area. 2. Production area: the construction facilities in the production area should be able to meet the needs of all kinds of cattle breeding and feed storage. In the pasture production area, there are several lactation cow feeding units and centrally managed delivery rooms, perinatal cow sheds, calf sheds, developed cowsheds, breeding sheds, dry cow sheds, silage facilities and roughage storage and processing facilities, etc.

3. Milking area: milking parlors and raw milk cooling and storage facilities are set up in the milking area, with unified milking operation standards and special milking personnel.

4. Isolation area: sick cattle barn and veterinary room are set up in the isolation area, which can meet the needs of diagnosis, treatment and isolation of diseased cattle.

5. Dung and urine treatment area: the manure and urine treatment area should have the functions of high temperature composting and sewage treatment, and solid-liquid separation system and biogas treatment facilities should be established when conditions permit.
