China Douyu is the general name of four known species of Douyu belonging to Douyu in China and Southeast Asia, namely, red and blue forked tail Douyu, Hong Kong black forked tail betta, Vietnamese black forked tail Douyu and round tail betta. They are often active in shallow puddles or dense shores with beautiful appearance and beautiful colors. They can be used as ornamental fish. Let's take a look at how Douyu is raised in China.

What are the varieties of Douyu in China?

1. Round-tailed Douyu: round-tailed Douyu is a fish belonging to the fighting fish genus of Douyu family. Its feeding habits are mainly carnivorous. In the natural environment, it mainly feeds on paddy field pests and larvae. Under the condition of artificial breeding, the young fish that have just hatched take paramecium, vinegar worms and other live food as opening feed, and can accept artificial feed when they grow to about 3 centimeters.

2. Forked tail betta: the body shape of Douyu is similar to that of Douyu, and the ventral fin has a segmented fin, especially the male fin. The caudal fin is forked, mostly living in shallow water areas such as mountain ponds, rice fields and water springs, and eats invertebrates. During the breeding period, males spit foam as nests and gather the eggs in the middle. Males have the habit of protecting nests.

What kind of food does Chinese Douyu eat?

1. Harvest shrimp: harvest shrimp is widely distributed in salt fields or salt lakes on land, and its nutritional value is very high for farmed fish and shrimp. The winter egg of harvest shrimp is a very special dormant egg, which can be dried and canned, sold on the shelf in the form of commodity, and can be easily hatched as high-quality live bait. Harvest shrimp is widely used in aquaculture.

2. Red nematodes: most of the red nematodes live on the banks of the river basin or in the sludge at the bottom of the river, which is dense with the sludge surface, one end is fixed in the sludge, and the other end stretches out the sludge to quiver in the water. The nutritional value of water earthworm is very high and should be rinsed repeatedly in clean water before feeding. It is not only the favorite food for goldfish and koi, but also the main bait for eel seedlings and young soft-shelled turtles.

3. Blood worms: blood worms mainly refer to several kinds of aquatic annelids with bright red body color, including Oligochaeta, Tremworm, which can be used to raise tropical fish. the species of the genus Bombyx mori in Polychaeta are sometimes called blood worms, and the aquatic larvae of some Chironomidae insects are also called blood worms.

4. Water fleas: water fleas live in fresh water. Some small male water fleas are hatched from summer eggs in autumn and begin to reproduce both sexes. The eggs laid are called "winter eggs". The winter eggs are larger, thicker and yolk than those in summer. Fertilized winter eggs, also known as "dormant eggs", survive the severe cold or dry environment and develop into new females when the temperature is high in the spring of the following year, except for a few who live in the sea water. Most of them are the most common zooplankton in all kinds of freshwater waters.

How to raise Douyu in China?

1, water quality selection: Douyu's requirements on temperature are not harsh, generally can survive within 4: 31 ℃, water temperature at 24: 27 ℃ is the most suitable for its growth, the pH of water is suitable for neutral water, pH value is 6.5-7.2, the dissolved oxygen content is best maintained at 5 mg / L under artificial feeding conditions, in addition, attention should be paid to control the content of some toxins in water quality.

2. Fish tank selection: there are no special restrictions on raising Douyu's containers. First of all, a thin layer of cleaned bottom sand or colored sand should be laid at the bottom of the fish tank. On the one hand, it can stabilize the roots of cultivated aquatic plants, on the other hand, it can provide attachment for microorganisms. The appropriate ratio of water to bottom sand is 5:1. In order to maintain sufficient oxygen in the tank and provide an external place for fish to hide, algae such as goldfish algae, hydrilla algae and other aquatic plants with low demand for CO2 should be properly implanted.

3. Water quality management: feeding Douyu only needs to use a plastic hose to remove the fecal dirt at the bottom of the tank by siphoning every 3 to 7 days, and about 1 meter 3 of the sewage is pumped into the chlorine-free tap water to create a clean water quality environment. Because there is no power equipment to drive the water cycle in the small aquarium, we should always pay attention to removing the oil film on the water surface formed by residual bait and feces, and you can use bamboo chopsticks to clip a water-absorbing paper and gently drag on the water surface. in addition, some beneficial microorganisms and trace elements should be added according to the water quality.

4. Bait feeding: Douyu is an omnivorous and carnivorous fish species, so it can be matched with a variety of baits, and try not to make Douyu's diet too monotonous. Usually the artificially dried bait has complete nutrients and is clean and sanitary. Feed Douyu's necessary bait for most people. Feed must be rinsed, each feeding amount can be eaten within 5 minutes, once a day.

5. Note: Chinese Douyu is a very lively fish, especially adult fish. When the environment suddenly changes or is frightened, the phenomenon of jumping out of the tank will occur, so when the environment changes, we must pay attention to add a lid to the fish tank to prevent the tragedy of jumping.

Prevention and treatment of common diseases of Douyu in China

1. Mold: almost all are caused by abnormal water quality and temperature, and this disease can spread quickly, so it is necessary to disinfect commonly used utensils and carry out whole-cylinder treatment, which can be cured quickly with mold drugs sold on the market, or can be treated with salt baths, but the effect is slow. The disease is extremely easy to infect Douyu. If it is not treated in time, it will soon cause death.

2. White spot disease: White spot disease is a common disease of tropical fish, not only seen in Douyu. Irregular changes in water quality and temperature can easily cause the disease. It is characterized by the attachment of white dots on the surface of the body, which can raise the water temperature to 30 degrees at the initial stage of the disease. or use A machine blue and also raise the water temperature to 30 degrees, or use salt water bath and heating also has a good effect.

3, pepper disease: pepper disease is smaller than white spot disease white (or brown) dots, dense, such as pepper covered with the appearance of fish symptoms, generally caused by sudden changes in water quality, the use of salt water bath can get good results.

4. Scale disease: scale disease is difficult to cure, which is an infection caused by the deterioration of water quality. the disease is that fish scales stand upright and fish body mucus is secreted massively. Treatment must be treated with fungal drugs and bacterial drugs, and pay more attention to residual bait and water quality.

5, rotten fin disease: rotten fin disease often occurs in fighting fish, the appearance of which looks like a small hole in the middle of the fin, which is generally caused by a sudden change in water quality or poor health when moving or transporting or fighting. Treatment can be treated with xanthate and pay more attention to the water quality to avoid secondary infection.

6. Ascites: it looks like abnormal swelling of the stomach, which is almost always caused by improper bait and poor water quality, but it may also be caused by parasites in the body, generally starting from the improvement of water quality and change of bait (reducing feeding). Even do not feed food temporarily, if there is no effect after a period of time to use deworming drugs in the body, the disease is often accompanied by standing scale, it takes great patience to treat this symptom.
