The scavenger fish is the common name of the multi-spoke-winged catfish and the lower-mouth catfish of the subfamily Clariinae. Artificial reproduction is not difficult, and family breeding is almost impossible to complete the breeding activities. In the fishery, it is said that the breeding is completed by simulating the hydrological state of the natural stream through a large current. Let's take a look at how the doffer fish reproduce.

Stocking conditions of parent fish ponds

The scavenger breeding method adopts the combination of natural spawning and artificial hatching of parent fish, so the requirements for parent fish ponds are higher, the area of fish ponds is 680 mu, the slope of pond ridge is 1Rd 2mm 2.5, the depth of pond is 2 meters, and the depth of water is 1.8 meters, preferably soil ponds, in order to help scavengers dig holes to produce spherical sacs, there is a small amount of silt at the bottom of the pond, convenient entry and drainage, clear water quality and abundant water source. About ten days before the parent fish were released, the fish ponds were disinfected with about 150 kilograms of quicklime or about 5 kilograms of bleaching powder per mu of water surface in order to kill the enemy of the water body. After the drug toxicity disappeared, new water was injected, and the water inlet was filtered with 60-mesh sieve silk, and the water level was controlled at 1 meter.

Scavengers breed their own fish

Every year in the middle and late April, when the water temperature is more than 18 ℃, the scavenger parent fish in the greenhouse are selected and put into parent fish culture ponds. The age of parent fish is better to reach 3 years old, at least 2 years old, gonadal development is good, the weight is more than 0.5 kg, the body length is about 30 cm, strong, normal shape, no deformities. Add or change water 1 to 2 times a week, 10 cm to 20 cm each time. At the same time, put an appropriate amount of pellet feed every day after soaking in boiling water, knead it into a ball by hand and send it to one side of the fish pond.

Scavenger fish egg collection

Since the beginning of June, the scavenger's eggs have been collected artificially. Unlike other fish, the scavenger lays eggs in a spherical sac, which is full of fish eggs. When the spherical sac shows turmeric, the spherical sac is taken out of the hole and put into the incubator to hatch. When the spherical sac does not reach turmeric, the spherical sac is put back into the hole to develop, so that the hatching rate of fish fry is higher.

Scavenger incubation technique

Scavengers hatch using incubators, there are two kinds of incubators, one is a cylindrical incubator with a height of 0.5 meters and a diameter of 0.3 to 0.4 meters. The square incubator is 1.5 meters long, 0.5 meters wide and 0.5 meters high, and is equipped with a filling pipe to increase the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water. The spherical sac is put into the garden column tank to hatch, and the water level is controlled at 0.3 to 0.4 meters. The water is changed once a day. When the spherical sac is dispersed, the water is changed 2 to 3 times a day. After 2 days, the fish fry are put into a square tank to hatch. The density is calculated according to the spherical sac. Each square cylinder puts 2 to 3 spherical sacs, that is, if the spherical sac is large, put 2 spherical sacs. For the small spherical sac, 3 can be put, and the seedlings can emerge in 2 days.
