Kissing fish is a kind of tropical fish, also known as kissing perch, kissing fish, Kiss fish, etc., originated in Java and Borneo in Southeast Asia. Local residents love kissing fish very much and often keep them in fish tanks to watch their "kissing" performances. Later, kissing fish became world-famous ornamental fish. Let's take a look at how kissing fish divide their parents.

How do kissing fish divide their parents?

It is not easy to distinguish between male and female kissing fish, the larvae can hardly distinguish between male and female, the adult male fin is wide and long, the body appears slender, the female is narrow, the body is broad, and the abdomen is slightly bulged. when the female is sexually mature, the abdomen is dilated because it is full of eggs, which is very obvious when looking down from the top of the tank.

The living habits of kissing fish

1. Kissing fish like to live in tropical rivers and are often used as a kind of edible fish in the country of origin. they do not have strict requirements on water quality, do not live in groups, swim very slowly, appear graceful and generous, and have charming charm and ornamental value. usually temperament is extremely meek and lively, so it is not suitable to mix with tropical fish that like quiet, like swimming in all layers of the water, but often stop at the bottom of the fish tank at rest.

2. Kissing fish have miscellaneous food habits and are not picky at all. Bread worms, broken earthworms and artificial feed can be eaten whatever the host feeds. It not only grows fast, but also has good resistance, rarely gets sick, and has many children and grandchildren with loose leaves and branches. Under artificial feeding conditions, there is no fixed breeding season, and reproduction is relatively simple, it is better to feed in pairs, and a large number of food can be conducive to reproduction.

Breeding methods of kissing fish

1. Kissing fish are oviparous and fertilized in vitro, usually with a body length of more than 20 centimeters as parent fish. The breeding was carried out in a large aquarium over 80 × 40 × 40 cm. The old water was used for 5 days, the water temperature was 25 ℃, the pH was 6.8 × 7.4, and the hardness was 911. A layer of floating aquatic grass was placed on the surface of the tank. The male fish keeps turning around the female fish, and when it reaches the appropriate position, it is wrapped in a "U" shape and squeezed around the female fish. The male fish ejaculates immediately after the female fish lays eggs. The female can lay 500 ~ 10 000 eggs at a time, with an average of 3000 eggs.

2. The eggs of kissing fish belong to floating eggs, which are oily floating on the surface of the water. Floating aquatic plants can prevent them from being swallowed by their parents. After laying eggs, the parent fish can be fished out and the eggs can be hatched artificially. The larvae can be hatched in 20 to 24 hours. After the larvae can swim in 2 to 3 days, they should be fed a large amount of ash water, otherwise they will starve to death. Feed the little red worm for 3 or 4 days after 3 days, and then feed the big worm. At 15-20 days, the fast-growing larvae should be divided into two or three boxes to ensure a higher survival rate. Sometimes a litter of fish can survive more than 9000 fish, reach sexual maturity in about a year, and live for up to 6-7 years.
