Teach you how to catch thrushes?
The thrush is a famous singing cage bird in our country, and it is also used to fight. It is a bird of the family Passeriformes, but at present it is impossible to breed artificially, only to catch it in the wild. There are many places where thrushes are produced in the south of our country, and there are various methods of capturing them. Let's take a look at how to catch thrushes.
Life habits of thrushes
The thrush lives in the mountain forest area south of the Yangtze River in China, likes to fly and perch in the bushes, often forages in the grass under the forest, and is not good at flying long distances. Omnivorous, but the food is mainly insects all the year round, especially in the breeding season, most of which are agricultural and forestry pests, including locusts, stink bugs, pine caterpillars, beetles, larvae of Lepidoptera and other moths, etc. plant foods are mainly seeds, fruits, grass seeds, wild fruits, strawberries and so on. In the breeding season, parent birds catch a large number of insects in order to feed their nestlings. in the non-breeding season, there are fewer insects and feed on a variety of plant fruits, weed seeds or tender vegetables.
Adult bird capture of thrush
1. Trap: use black nylon or ponytail to tie a looper on the bamboo board. Each set is about 3 cm in diameter, with live worms as bait and placed in a place where thrushes are often active. In addition, the Fowler whistles nearby to seduce the male, or places a trained male to sing near the looper to lure the wild bird into the trap. Although this method saves time and money, it is not very effective.
2. Viscose: apply the prepared high viscosity glue to the branches where thrushes often live. Do not remove the leaves or break the branches when you apply them. Because the thrush is very sensitive to the place where it lives, if it finds a strange branch, it will no longer live here. After applying viscose, seduce with whistle or mordant bird.
Thrush chicks catch
1. The breeding season for thrushes is from March to July in the lunar calendar. Usually reproduce twice a year. It takes about 19 days from spawning and hatching to hatching, and the nestlings are nurtured by both male and female old birds. The chicks can leave the nest after 3 to 4 weeks, but the parent birds need to be fed for 6 to 7 weeks before they can fly to find food on their own. Bird nests are usually built on twigs in bushes, shaped like bowls and made of hay leaves and roots. The inner diameter is about 9 cm and the depth is about 8 cm. Each spawning 4-5 eggs, showing a light green, oval, weighing about 50 grams.
2. If you want to catch a nestling, you should pay attention to finding the nest and observing the time when the mother bird lays eggs. When you find an old bird flying with grass or insects, you can follow the direction of its flight. In addition, if a lot of scattered bird droppings are found near the bushes or tree roots, it can also be concluded that there is a bird's nest nearby.
3. After discovering the bird's nest and roughly mastering the spawning time, the capture time can be determined. It is generally better to catch the nestling about 15 days after coming out of the nest shell. In order to protect the birds, it is best not to take all the chicks away. The ones with large body, triangular mouth, large nostrils and high bridge of nose should be taken away, and the rest should be left. But do not turn it casually, and do not damage the bird's nest and the surrounding branches, try to keep it as it is.
4. If you find that the time when the nestling comes out of its shell is too short, you can catch it in a few days. Get the food and nests ready before catching. The nestling should be placed in a cardboard box or bamboo basket covered with cotton wool or fine hay. Pay attention to heat preservation. Don't move or vibrate too much.
Note: thrush is a native bird of China, not only an important beneficial bird for agriculture and forestry, but also a melodious and melodious song, which can imitate the songs of other birds. It has always been raised as a caged ornamental bird by the people, and is known as the "king of birds" at home and abroad. Therefore, it is not only caught and watched by the folk every year, but also exported to foreign countries, resulting in a significant reduction in the number of the population. We should strengthen protection and control capture and hunting.
