Feeding methods of corn snakes

Corn snakes can be raised in a relatively simple, high and wide, well-ventilated and strong feeding box, with a solid top cover at the top to prevent escape. Dead wood, artificial turf or newspapers, hidden stone caves, etc. can be placed in the box to prepare withered branches for peeling, as well as water basins for drinking water and bathing. There should be crawler lights to keep warm. Small mice can be fed each time at intervals of 7 to 10 days, do not be too large or too many, otherwise they will vomit, do not disturb them after each meal, so as not to cause vomiting and death.

Precautions of Corn Snake

1. Corn snakes have to make all the preparations before entering the house. They need to prepare snake boxes, heating equipment, water drinking equipment and suckling mice of the right size as food. Don't wait until you buy a snake before thinking about it. Just bought corn snakes due to changes in the environment, temperature, light, smell, vibration are not the same as the original, coupled with the snakes are more sensitive to environmental factors, prone to tension, hiding from the problem. Therefore, just bought corn snakes, need to let them rest quietly for a few days, give it a quiet environment, clean water and shelter, must not play or rush to feed.

2. It is normal for a corn snake not to eat when it has just come home. It needs a process of adapting to the new environment, and it will eat slowly. However, if your snake is too small, if the suckling mouse is too big for your baby, you will not eat it. If you feed the mouse tail or half a mouse first, the smell of rat brain or lizard will attract the snake even more. Don't stare at it. Snakes in the wild are vulnerable to attack when eating, so if you have noticed that other animals are paying attention, they will not be willing to eat.

3. Snakes are relatively independent animals. They generally move alone and only look for mates with each other during the mating season. If multiple snakes are mixed at the same time, it is easy to cause the problem of snake eating. It is absolutely necessary to avoid putting different kinds of snakes in the same feeding box. The young corn snake will not mind living in a very small place, the key is to have their own world, not to have companions who often disturb it.

4. The advantage of using newspaper as the base material of corn snake box is that it is easy to find excreta and clean it up very quickly, although the visual effect is not the best. The newspaper should not bring a new one to the cushion box as soon as it is read. It is better to spread it out in the sun. Do not use fine sand. Fine sand is easily sucked into the respiratory tract and lungs. Do not use fir bark. It is poisonous.
