Swallow is a perennial herb of Ranunculaceae. It is native to southern Europe and is cultivated in various provinces of China. Because of its unique flower shape, it is very similar to the name of a swallow. The flower diameter is about 4 cm, elegant and lovable. It is often planted in flower beds, flower borders, and can also be used as cut flowers. Let's take a look at the breeding methods of swallow grass.

The growth habit of delphinium

Swallow grass has strong adaptability to climate, and the humid and cool climate is more suitable. The optimum temperature for seed germination is 15 ℃, and the suitable temperature for growth period is 20: 25 ℃ in daytime and 3: 15 ℃ at night. Like light, slightly able to withstand shade, the growing period can be in the semi-shade, the flowering period should be full of sunshine. The acid soil, which is fertile, moist and well drained, can also tolerate drought and water temperature slightly, and the best pH value is 5.5-6.0.

The Propagation method of Swallow

Delphinium can be propagated by seed or cuttage. The seeds were sown in late August to early September, first sowed into the open nursery bed, entered the cold bed or cold room before winter, and planted warm in spring. The seedlings were directly broadcast in the open field in early spring in the south, and the distance between seedlings was kept at 25cm. In the north, seedlings are generally raised beforehand and planted in April, 2-4 true leaves and 4-7 true leaves. Pay attention to drainage on rainy days. Cutting propagation is carried out in spring, when the new leaves grow out of more than 15 centimeters, cut cuttings, insert into the sand. Ramet propagation can be carried out in spring and autumn, usually once every 2-3 years.

The culture method of swallows grass

1. Maintenance: swallow must keep the soil moist after sowing. The easiest way is to cover some grass and gradually remove the mulch after emergence.

2. Transplant: when delphinium grows 2 true leaves, take soil and transplant it in a small basin, wait until the seedling grows up, and then change the basin again.

3. Watering: swallow watering should be dry and wet, and a little more water should be properly watered during the flowering period to avoid excessive dryness of the soil.

4. Fertilization: when swallows were changed, dry manure was applied as basic fertilizer, and then, according to the growth situation, rotten cake fertilizer and water was applied one to three times a month.

5. Height control: paclobutrazol was used to control the height of the plant after changing pots, and 0.5% paclobutrazol was applied every 2 weeks.

6. Seed collection: the seed of delphinium should be collected in time to avoid fruit cracking after ripening.

7. Diseases: Swift grass often has black spot, root neck rot and chrysanthemum leaf blight that damage leaves, flower buds and stems. It can be sprayed with 30% topiramine wettable powder 500 times.

8. Insect pests: delphinia pests are often harmed by aphids and night eggs, which are sprayed with 2000 times of deworming essential oil.
