Qiuli is a succulent plant belonging to the genus Pinwheel of Crassulaceae. It may be derived from the cross between Longyue and Yinixin. Although its name is similar to Ji Qiuli, it has no relationship with Ji Qiuli in fact. Often confused with Ji Qiuli or mistakenly classified as windmill grass (actually intergeneric hybrid species), sometimes mistakenly considered as Ji Longyue hybrid species, let's take a look at Qiu Li's breeding method!

Autumn's growth habits

Autumn Lixi sufficient light and ventilation environment, need full sunshine, in addition to high temperature in summer need to control watering, the growth season can be normal watering, generally wait for the pot soil to dry after watering is more appropriate. Antibacterial ability is weak, easy to infect virus, pay attention to disinfection of matrix, especially not suitable for long-term wet, ponding state, otherwise easy to lead to rotten roots. Available in the market for fleshy flowers special soil cultivation, generally after disinfection. It is easy to grow in groups. Under the environment of large temperature difference and sufficient sunshine, the plant type is compact, the leaves are full, showing the combination and smudge of pink, purple, red, orange, yellow and other colors, which is very wonderful.

Autumn's breeding method

Autumn is a very easy breed. It can be propagated by many methods such as cutting top to induce tiller buds and leaf insertion. The success rate of reproduction is very high. Can be in spring and autumn (north of the Yangtze River in winter can also be carried out) to break off healthy, mature and complete leaves for cuttage, slightly inclined or flat leaves in vermiculite, peat or coconut chaff, keep a little moisture, will soon take root at the base, and grow new buds, to grow a little larger buds, another planting that is, become new plants. In addition, the young plants sprouting next to the old plants can be used for cuttage. Before cuttage, the incision should be dried, and then the lower stem should be buried in the sand. The rest of the precautions should be inserted into the leaves. Cutting medium needs to use loose sandy soil, so that the roots of the plant can grow well.

Autumn's breeding method

1. Light: The more abundant the light, the greater the temperature difference between day and night, and the brighter the leaves. If the temperature permits, it is best to put it outdoors for maintenance to ensure sufficient light. Under insufficient light or excessive soil moisture, the whole plant grows excessively, the color of the whole plant is dim and green, the spacing of leaves is sparse and elongated, and the upward growth is accelerated, which seriously affects the ornamental property, and even may die due to the obstruction of photosynthesis of the plant.

2. Moisture: Due to the high moisture content inside the plant, Qiu Li is easy to rot in an excessively humid environment. Do not water too much. In order to avoid root moisture deposition, it is best to use pots with drain holes at the bottom. When planting novice, red pottery pots with good permeability can be used (but it may affect the fullness of leaves). Glass containers absorb heat and have poor air permeability. Usually once every 10 days or so, watering can be done every time, and the watering frequency can be increased or decreased according to the climate difference of different regions and seasons.

3. Soil: It should be cultivated in neutral sandy soil with good drainage and permeability, so as to facilitate the elimination of excess water and the growth of plant roots. It can be prepared with pine needle soil, vermiculite, decayed leaf soil and sand. It can also be added with cinder and sifted red jade soil, deer marsh soil, volcanic stone and other particles. Every 1~2 years in the spring for a pot, necrotic old roots can be cut off. Soil nitrogen content should not be too high.

4. Temperature: Under normal circumstances, growth stops or mild frostbite occurs below 5 degrees Celsius, and the water in the leaves freezes and cells necrosis below 0 degrees Celsius. Winter and summer temperature is too high (higher than 35 degrees Celsius) or too low (less than five degrees Celsius) when the plant stops growing, at this time should temporarily reduce or stop watering, wait for the temperature appropriate to resume watering frequency. Pay attention to ventilation during high temperature in summer to prevent prolonged exposure to avoid sunburn.

5, pruning: usually need to remove the dried old leaves in time, so as not to accumulate bacteria breeding. When the plant grows too long or too high, it can be shaped by pruning the top branches and controlling the height of the plant to maintain the elegance of the plant type. The cut tips can be inserted into sandy, slightly damp soil to take root after drying the wound and become new plants. The stems and branches at the bottom can sprout more lateral buds.
