The perennial plant I would like to introduce to you below is Yucca, which is a perennial shrub plant that can grow very tall and has more than 40 varieties. It belongs to the subfamily tequila. It is characterized by sword-shaped leaves that can produce clusters of white flowers, each of which looks like a rose bud.

Although more than 40 varieties are suitable for growing in the south, there are also a few suitable for growing in the north. Most Yucca likes a warm and humid environment all the year round. When I was a child, I often saw Yucca grow next to a rural graveyard. When the flowers are in full bloom, they are covered with clusters of white flowers, forming a beautiful landscape.

Although common in Mexico and the southern part of the United States, they like warm and dry environments all the year round and grow well in desert and arid areas.

The picture above is the fruit of Yucca.

The maintenance of silk orchids must be given loose and drained sandy soil to avoid planting in places where the soil is heavy, let alone in low-lying areas where water is easy to accumulate. During maintenance, it only needs to be watered once during cultivation. In the later stage, it only needs to let it absorb Rain Water.

In a warm and dry environment all the year round, although it can produce charming white flowers, its flowers are in strings, and the whole pedicel is 2 to 3 meters high, which is very spectacular.

Although it is very adaptable to the environment, it can grow in coastal sandy lands, grasslands, deserts, rocky areas and various desert climates, because it has a very thick waxy skin that prevents water from evaporating. They store water in strong roots, and some magnolia store water on thick leaves.

Some Yucca varieties keep losing their leaves during drought to prevent water from evaporating too quickly; some Yucca's bottom leaves wither and their roots grow taller, and those withered leaves can properly shield it from the sun. The leaves can also guide dew and Rain Water to the roots.

Yucca is suitable for growing in courtyards and in a variety of open environments, and some varieties are edible, including its seeds, flowers and stems. In some places in Mexico, the petals of Yucca are picked to eat, and the stems are usually extremely bitter.
