Ji Qiuli is a kind of plant that grows relatively fast, is easy to maintain and is as delicate and small as jade. It is a succulent plant of the genus Sedum. Its Chinese name comes from its Japanese name, and Ji means small in Japanese. Because its color and appearance are similar to Qiuli, it is smaller than Qiuli, but in fact, Ji Qiuli has nothing to do with Qiuli. Let's take a look at how Ji Qiuli can raise it.

Ji Qiuli's Ecological habits

Ji Qiuli is strong by nature and likes a sunny, dry and ventilated environment. Resistant to drought, avoid waterlogging, suitable for small pots and sandy soil with good drainage. Summer should be appropriate sunshade, the temperature above 35 degrees Celsius to cut off water, let it dormant, and moved to a cool and ventilated place for maintenance. If the winter temperature is kept above 5 degrees Celsius, there is no worry about overwintering.

The breeding method of Ji Qiuli

Ji Qiuli is a very easy variety to breed, which can be propagated by cutting the top to promote tillering buds, leaf insertion and other methods, and the success rate of reproduction is very high. Healthy, mature and intact leaves can be cut in spring and autumn, slightly tilted or laid flat on vermiculite, peat or coconut bran, keeping a little damp, and will soon take root at the base and grow new buds, waiting for the new buds to grow a little bigger. another plant will become a new plant. In addition, the young plants germinating next to the old plants can be used for cutting. before cutting, the cut should be dried, and then the lower stem should be shallowly buried in the sandy soil, and other points for attention should be planted with the same leaves. The cutting medium needs to use loose sandy soil so that the root system of the plant can grow well.

How does Ji Qiuli raise exploding pots?

1. Lighting: the more sufficient the light of Ji Qiuli is, the greater the temperature difference between day and night is, the brighter and moist the leaf color is. When the temperature permits, it is best to put it outside for maintenance to ensure sufficient light. When the light is insufficient or the soil moisture is too much, the color of the whole plant is dim and green, the leaf sparse spacing lengthens, accelerates the upward growth, seriously affects the ornamental ability, and may even die because of the hindrance of plant photosynthesis.

2. Moisture: Ji Qiuli is easy to rot in the excessive humid environment because of the high water content in the plant, and avoid watering too much. In order to avoid root water siltation, it is best to choose a basin with a drainage hole at the bottom. Novice planting can choose red pottery basin with good air permeability, glass container absorbs heat and poor air permeability, and should be used with caution. Once every 10 days or so, it can be thoroughly watered each time, and the watering frequency can be increased or decreased according to the climate differences of different regions and seasons.

3. Soil: Ji Qiuli culture should be cultivated in sandy soil with good drainage and permeability, so as to facilitate the removal of excess water and the growth of plant roots. It can be prepared with pine needle soil, vermiculite, rotten leaf soil and sandy soil. If the basin is changed every 1 ~ 2 years in spring, the necrotic old root can be cut off.

Temperature: Ji Qiuli generally stops growing or slightly frostbitten when the temperature is below 5 degrees Celsius, and the water frozen cells in the leaves below 0 degrees Celsius are necrotic. When the temperature is too high (more than 35 degrees Celsius) or too low (less than five degrees Celsius) in winter and summer, the plant growth should be temporarily reduced or stopped, and the watering frequency should be restored when the temperature is suitable. Pay attention to ventilation during high temperatures in summer to prevent prolonged exposure to the sun to avoid sunburn.

5. Pruning: Ji Qiuli usually needs to remove the dry old leaves in time so as not to accumulate and lead to the growth of bacteria. When the plant grows excessively or grows too high, it can be molded by pruning the top branches and leaves and controlling the plant height to maintain the beauty of the plant type. The top part of the cut can be inserted into the sandy soil after drying the wound to take root and become a new plant. The stems and leaves at the bottom can sprout more lateral buds.
