Golden lotus, also known as golden lotus, dry lotus, golden lotus, cold golden lotus, great cardinals, etc., are semi-trailing or recumbent perennial plants of the genus Nelumbo nucifera of the family Nelumbo nucifera. It is often cultivated in 2012 in the north and can be cultivated perennially in the south. Under suitable environmental conditions, it can blossom all year round. Let's take a look at how to plant the seeds of Trollius.

Seed soaking and sprouting of Clematis paniculata

1. Seed treatment: because the seed coat is relatively thick, soak the seed in warm water (about 40 ℃) or cold water for 12 hours before sowing, peel off the outer skin of the seed, and then continue to soak for 12 hours.

2. Seed sprouting: take clean, fragrant paper towels, fold 6 to 8 layers, put them on a small plate, moisten them with pure water (it is appropriate to soak them thoroughly), gently press the soaked seeds in the middle of the paper towels, then put the small plate into a transparent food bag and fasten it tightly, ventilating for 15 minutes for 30 minutes a day.

3. Sprouting and sowing: the seeds germinated with paper towels will generally crack and expose the bud tip within 2-7 days. When the bud tip is 2 mm, it can be planted in the soil to raise seedlings. Cotyledons will break out of the soil 2-5 days after the soil, and when the cotyledons are fully expanded, they will be able to accept full light.

Sowing time of Clematis paniculata

1. Spring sowing (East China): the high temperature in summer is not suitable for the growth of Trollius, so spring sowing should be early. Budding can be accelerated from early February to early March, budding occurs at 30-35 days after budding, and blossoms at 40-45 days. Spring sowing is characterized by broad leaves, slender stem nodes, less flowering than autumn sowing, short flowering period and less seed setting. Spring sowing has a short growth cycle, so it is more suitable for beginners.

2. Autumn sowing (East China): autumn sowing was carried out from late September to early October, and the flowering period was from February to March of the following year. Autumn sowing is characterized by thick leaves, stout branches, compact plant type, short stem nodes, many flowering, long flowering period and full seeds. Because of the long growth cycle, autumn sowing tests the patience and planting skills of flower friends.

The planting method of Clematis paniculata

1. Soil: potted lotus plants prefer soil that is easy to drain, adequate nutrients and conducive to root respiration. They are afraid of waterlogging and can not accumulate water. Potted soil can be mixed with garden soil, rotten leaf soil, compost soil and sandy soil according to the ratio of 4-4-4-1-1-1.

2. Lighting: Hanjin Lianxi needs enough light. It is not acceptable to be exposed to direct sunlight in summer. It is placed in a cool and ventilated place. North China is put indoors in mid-October and placed in a place where the sun can shine. The dry lotus will grow with the light, and the plant should be turned constantly to receive uniform light.

3. Watering: Hanjinlian likes to be wet because it is not resistant to waterlogging, and the soil moisture should be controlled at 50%. It should be watered less many times during the growth period. It should be watered every 1-2 days in spring and autumn, once every day in summer, and the leaf surface should be sprayed in the evening. Reduce the watering times at the flower bud stage and increase the amount as appropriate.

4. Temperature: the most suitable temperature is 18: 24 ℃, afraid of high temperature, it is difficult to blossom if the temperature is too high in summer, and slow down or stop growing when it is higher than 35 ℃. Golden lotus is not resistant to cold, 0 ℃ can only survive in a short time, and the winter temperature should be higher than 10 ℃ to facilitate overwintering. When the winter temperature is controlled at 12: 16 ℃ and suitable fertilizer and water, the growth of Clematis can be maintained.

5. Fertilization: during the growing period, 20% rotten bean cake water can be applied once a month, 0.5% superphosphate or rotten chicken and duck dung water should be applied every half a month, and 30% rotten bean cake water should be applied once after flowering. Golden lotus does not need to apply fertilizer in summer, and a compound overwintering fertilizer is applied at the end of autumn, which is beneficial to cold resistance and growth in the coming year.

6. Insect pests: Golden lotus is rarely infected with diseases and insect pests, and the disease generally has leaf miner, which will roll up or fall off the leaves, as well as aphids and whitefly, which can be controlled by spraying. Diseases generally include mosaic disease and ringspot disease, which can be sprayed with insecticides to control aphids, clean up surrounding weeds, pull up infected plants and burn them.
