Many flower friends have a headache when it comes to cuttings. There are many benefits of cutting, you don't have to spend money on potted plants, a section of stem, a leaf, or even a small bud, you can successfully cultivate a flower.

But on the whole, cutting is a test of causative skills, which is often the reason why many people are prohibitive.

In fact, cutting is not as difficult as we think, and then Xiaobian introduces three simple cutting methods, the survival rate is super high!

Leaf cuttage

In addition to succulent plants, there are many plants that can be cut successfully with only one leaf. For example, rubber tree, African pansy, money tree and so on.

And the most surprising thing is that some of them can take root as long as the leaves fall into the flowerpot, which is very convenient.

Take the rubber tree, for example, choose healthy leaves with a small bud at the bottom, so that you have a better chance of survival.

Put the leaves flat on the sandy soil, the petiole partially buried in the soil, and then put it in a cool and well-ventilated place to keep the soil moist.

Then wait quietly, basically in about three days, the leaves of the rubber tree will be able to grow new roots.

Terminal bud cuttage

This cutting method is mainly aimed at some relatively short herbs, such as sunflower, mint, perilla, four seasons begonia and so on.

These plants are so adaptable to the environment that they only need a small lateral bud to grow a whole plant.

Take mint as an example, select a branch with a terminal bud, remove all the leaves from the branch, and then insert it directly into the water.

The growth rate of this kind of plant is relatively fast, basically can grow a new root system in a week or so, and then insert this branch into the soil for normal maintenance.

Branch cuttage

This is a cutting method suitable for most plants. Generally speaking, as long as there are growing points on the branches of the plant, the plant can reproduce by stem cutting.

Before cutting, all tools that may be used in the cutting process, including containers, pliers, and even cutting soil, should be sterilized to avoid virus infection.

When choosing cutting branches, pay attention to choose healthy and full branches with no rotting roots or no signs of overgrowth, with a length of about 15 cm.

After cutting the branches, do not rush to cut them into the soil, you can put the branches in a ventilated place to dry for a period of time, wait for the wound on the surface of the branches to recover before cutting.

Then insert the branches into the sandy soil and wait for the branches to sprout new roots. You can choose perlite or sand as the soil matrix, pay attention to appropriate watering, to maintain the wettability of the soil.

Plastic wrap or plastic bags can be used to cover the surface, which can increase the humidity of the air.

Basically, in no more than a week, the branches can sprout new roots. It can then be changed to a new basin for normal maintenance.
