There are not only many species of pine, but also widely distributed, such as Pinus tabulaeformis, Pinus sylvestris, Pinus tabulaeformis, Pinus koraiensis and Pinus tabulaeformis in Central China, Pinus massoniana, Pinus taiwanensis and Pinus elliottii in Qinba Mountains. Most of them are the main tree species for barren mountain afforestation in China. Let's take a look at whether the pine will lose its leaves.

Will the pine tree shed its leaves?

Pine trees shed their leaves. Pine trees are not deciduous, but evergreen trees are evergreen all the year round, but "evergreen" does not mean "no deciduous leaves". It is just that they are not concentrated in a certain season like deciduous trees. Evergreen trees have fallen leaves in all seasons, but at the same time, they also have new leaves, and the life span of the leaves is slightly longer than that of deciduous trees. When the leaves of evergreen trees wither and fall, new leaves grow at the same time, so they have green leaves all the year round, rather than the so-called "no fallen leaves".

Will pine trees blossom?

Pine trees blossom. The pine is monoecious and the cones are unisexual. Male cones solitary new branch lower bract axil, mostly aggregated, stamens numerous, anthers 2, anthers longitudinally lobed, pollen with two well-developed air sacs, airbag and body contact surface is small, the boundary is obvious, generally have significant margin. There are 1-4 female cones born near the top of new branches, with many pearl scales and bract scales, and two anatropous ovules are born at the ventral base of each scale. They are pollinated in the same year and will rapidly grow into cones in the second year.

What are the morphological characteristics of pine trees?

1. Stem: after maturity, the pine tree is up to 45 meters high, with a breast diameter of 1.5 meters, the bark is reddish brown, the lower part of it is grayish brown, and it is divided into irregular scaly pieces. The branches are spreading or obliquely spreading, the crown is broadly tower-shaped or umbrella-shaped, and the branches grow in one round a year, but in southern Guangdong they usually grow two rounds, yellowish brown, free of white powder, rare white powder, glabrous.

2. Leaves: pine scale leaves are solitary, linear and green when young, then gradually degenerate into brown, membranous bract-like, and needle leaves (secondary leaves) are drawn out in their axils. Needles 2 needles a bunch, sparse 3 needles a bunch, 12 cm long, soft, slightly twisted, stomatal lines on both sides, margin serrulate, born on rudimentary short branches, the base of each bundle of needles is surrounded by membranous leaf sheaths. The leaf sheath was brown at first and then grayish black, persistent.

3. Flowers: pines are monoecious and globules are unisexual.

4. Fruit: pine cones mature for 2 years, seed scales open when ripe, sparsely open, ovate, long ovate, nearly round or cylindrical, erect or drooping. Species scale woody, persistent, the upper part of the exposed part is usually hypertrophic as a scale shield, with obvious transverse ridge or no transverse ridge, the apex or center of the scale shield has many verrucous protruding or retuse navel, spiny or unarmed, developed species with 2 kinds of scales. Upper part of seed with upper wing, cotyledons 3-18, unearthed at germination.
