The aquarium is an aquarium with the theme of aquatic plants. In general, aquarium tanks will raise small lantern fish for group swimming or fairy fish, short sea bream, etc., as well as a small number of algae-killing organisms such as shrimp, snails or algae-eating fish. but there are also a small number of aquarium purely based on aquatic plant landscape, to make a beautiful aquarium, there are a lot of need to know and tips, let's take a look at the aquarium landscaping course!

lighting

The lighting in the water tank is not only as beautiful as the lighting on the stage, but also sufficient and high-quality light is a necessary condition in the natural ecological tank. Aquatic plants need to absorb light when they are engaged in photosynthesis, and beneficial microorganisms also need light to provide energy for their activities, so lighting can be said to be the power source of the natural ecological tank.

Filter system

The continuous flow of water in nature constantly replenishes the CO2, oxygen and nutrients needed for the growth of aquatic plants. In addition, through the decomposition and purification of microorganisms in the environment, it can remain crystal clear at any time. The water tank is a closed space, so the purification of water quality needs to be assisted by the screening program and provides the circulation of water in the tank.

Carbon dioxide

Carbon dioxide is a necessary condition for photosynthesis. because the water in the aquarium is dead water, it cannot continuously provide carbon dioxide like the living water in nature, so it is necessary to supplement the concentration of carbon dioxide in the water through a carbon dioxide supply system. Provide water plants for photosynthesis, and then produce the oxygen needed by fish and microorganisms.

Water grass bottom bed

The bottom bed supplies the attachment and nutrients of the roots of aquatic plants, and provides a place where beneficial microorganisms live, which is the most important basis for the cultivation of aquatic grasses. The condition of the bottom bed in the water grass tank will directly affect the growth of aquatic plants. Therefore, in the construction of a natural bottom bed, in addition to the basic sand or soil, it is also recommended to add natural nutrients, beneficial microorganisms and electric magnets to activate the bottom bed.

Fertilization management

When the water grass tank is set up at the beginning, it is necessary to wait for the water grass to sprout before fertilization. there are base fertilizer, root fertilizer, liquid fertilizer, iron fertilizer and so on. When adding root fertilizer, in order to prevent root rot, it must be buried in the bottom bed 2cm away from aquatic plants. When adding water-soluble fertilizer, you can add a certain amount of water directly to the water tank for the first time, but then if you can add liquid fertilizer according to the amount of water, you don't have to worry about the accumulation of excess fertilizer in the aquarium. No matter what kind of fertilizer it is, it can work effectively only when the water quality is stable, the carbon dioxide concentration is appropriate, and the water temperature is suitable. If these conditions are out of balance, the excess fertilizer in the aquarium will cause algae production.

Water exchange management

The degree of water change in water grass tanks will vary depending on the number and types of water plants, generally about one to two weeks to change the water, if there is no carbon dioxide added, then every 2 to 3 days to carry out the change of water, with this frequency can be effective use of carbon dioxide in tap water, but also can inhibit the occurrence of algae. It is best to adjust the temperature of the water used for water exchange and add water quality stabilizer before adding it to the water tank. In addition, when the water is removed from the water tank, it is better to use a siphon to absorb the accumulation hidden in the water plant or the bottom bed at the same time.

Pruning of aquatic plants

After a few weeks of landscaping, the fast-growing stemmed plants have grown to twice their original height, making the balance of the display collapse and the need for pruning. The simplest pruning method is to cut the longer stemmed plants to the right length. In addition, some aquatic plants that will float on the water surface will affect the lighting of the aquatic plants below, so they should be trimmed to an appropriate length, and some people will use nails to trim them, but it is easy to hurt the aquatic plants, so it is better to use scissors as much as possible.
