Species of geraniums

1. Large-flowered geranium: large-flowered geranium alias butterfly geranium, domestic geranium, foreign butterfly, butterfly plum, hairy leaf stone red and so on. It is a related species of geranium, which is a common cultivated plant in the north of China. Cultivated plants, 30cm to 40cm tall, glabrous or rarely sericeous. The leaf is oval or nearly round, thicker, petiole longer, leaf margin densely and acutely serrated, foliage wrinkled. Umbels axillary and, with rods, large flowers, flowers with white, red, pink, purple and miscellaneous colors, lace and so on, flowering from May to July.

2. Horseshoe geranium: Pelargonium is native to South Africa, with an erect stem, cylindrical subfleshy stem, ovate or Obovate leaf, dark brown horseshoe ring on the leaf surface and obtusely serrated leaf margin. Flowers crimson to white, fewer flowers, florescence anniversary. It is required to be sunny, not cold-resistant, and the suitable temperature for growth is 18-22 ℃. During the growing period, attention should be paid to fertilizer and water management and heart-picking should be strengthened in order to enlarge the plant width.

3. Geranium: the geranium is native to southern Africa, especially South Africa, and likes a warm, humid and sunny environment. Poor cold resistance, afraid of dampness and high temperature. Perennial herbs or shrubs, up to 1 m high. Stem erect, base Lignified, distal fleshy, densely glossy pilose, fragrant. Can be used to make essential oil, its main ingredients are geraniol, citronellol, linalool and so on.

4. Pelargonium: pelargonium is a perennial climbing or winding herb of Pelargoniaceae, distributed in Africa and Chinese mainland all over the country. At present, it has been introduced and cultivated artificially, with a length of 40 cm, a stem of 3 mm and 10 mm in diameter, alternate leaves, axillary corymbose, like sunlight, but also shade-tolerant, afraid of cold, need to be cultivated in greenhouse, not resistant to water and moisture, like loose, good drainage soil.
