To boost rice culture, the Council of Agriculture of the Executive Yuan recruited 25 manufacturers to use rice flour to develop Christmas cakes and feasts. Chen Baoji, chairman of the Council of Agriculture, praised that rice noodles absorb 15% less oil and are healthier.

Yesterday, the Agriculture and Food Department of the Council of Agriculture held a press conference on "Christmas Rice Rhapsody and General Mobilization of Health creativity" to promote Christmas delicacies made from oriental staple rice flour for the first time through Western festivals.

Chen Baoji, together with Li Canglang, director of agriculture and grain, and Lu Xun, director of the China Cereal Industry Technology Research Institute, sprinkled rice flour at the gingerbread house to stir-fry the rice delicacies to celebrate Christmas.

In his speech, Chen Baoji said: compared with the 1970s, Taiwan produced more than 2.3 million tons of rice a year, but now it has a planting area of 260000 hectares and an output of 1.6 million metric tons, which has been greatly reduced. He said that when babies were young, after more than a year of breast-feeding, they ate porridge and rice flour. In fact, rice is a staple food that is very suitable for oriental growth. Moreover, rice flour, developed by the China Cereal Industry Research Institute commissioned by the Council of Agriculture, can be used to make noodles. The oil absorption of noodles can be reduced by more than 15%, making it healthier to eat.

Lu Xun added that some people are allergic to the gluten contained in wheat flour, which makes his two grandchildren itch. Secondly, the high quality protein content of rice is high, and the protein absorption rate of rice is 90%, which is 80% higher than that of wheat protein.

The Council of Agriculture gathered a total of 25 manufacturers, including 14 rice baking products, 2 pure rice noodles, 4 rice seed strips, 3 pure rice cereal, and 2 brown rice and sprouted rice products, with a total of more than 90 Christmas products, including pastry and bread.
