The scientific name of cockscomb means "burning" in Greek. From summer to autumn, the chicken crown petals are like a rainbow. Among them, the 10 cm high mini cockscomb is the most suitable for planting in the balcony flowerpot. To make the cockscomb bloom beautifully, the main secret is how much to water. Let's take a look at the cultivation method of cockscomb pot.

It is generally appropriate to choose dwarf varieties for pot cultivation of cockscomb and sow from April to May. The seedlings grew 5-6 true leaves with soil balls on the pot, and planted a little deeper, 1-3 plants in each pot.

Chicken crown flowerpot soil is made of sandy loam with more humus and some plant ash or superphosphate, or mixed with rotten leaf soil, garden soil and sandy soil at the ratio of 1:4:2 as base fertilizer. After putting the seedlings into the pot, pour enough water and place them in a shady place. Place in a sunny place after 5 to 6 days.

There is no or little application of dilute liquid fertilizer during the growth period of cockscomb pot culture, so as to prevent the plant from growing crazily, delaying flowering or not blooming. When the inflorescence was formed, the thin compound liquid fertilizer containing phosphorus and potassium was applied twice to make the plant strong and the flowers big and colorful.

Watering the cockscomb pot should be dry and wet, and do not get too wet. Try not to get the lower leaves stained with mud when watering. After planting, dwarf varieties should be coring to promote multi-branching.
