Lavender prairie is wild in the southern foothills of the Alps along the Mediterranean coast of France and southern Italy, as well as Spain and North Africa. It is highly adaptable, not only resistant to low temperature, but also resistant to high temperature, like dry, long sunshine environment, requires the soil layer is deep, loose, good ventilation and rich in silicon and calcium fertile soil, let's take a look at the planting conditions of lavender!

Temperature condition

Lavender has strong adaptability. Adult plants can tolerate both low temperature and high temperature. It can withstand high temperature of about 40 ℃ in harvest season. The winter in Huanglong area of Shaanxi Province is safe at-21 ℃. Lavender can withstand low temperature of-37 ℃ after burying soil and snow cover in * * area. Seedlings can tolerate low temperature of-10 ℃. In the process of growth and development in the following year, the average temperature is about 8 ℃, the average temperature is 10: 15 days, the average temperature is 12: 15 ℃, the average temperature is 20 days, the average temperature is 16: 18 ℃, the average temperature is 25: 30 days, the average temperature is 20: 22 ℃, and the average temperature is 26: 32 ℃, which is the fruiting stage.

Water condition

Lavender likes to dry and does not need much water, and the annual rainfall is 600 to 800mm. In the green and budding stage, the plant grows faster, requires more water, needs less water in the flowering stage, and is suitable in the fruiting stage. Winter dormancy should be winter irrigation or snow cover, the ideal distribution of rainfall in a year is abundant in spring, moderate in summer, and plenty of snow in winter.

Sunshine condition

Lavender is a long sunshine plant, the growth and development period requires sufficient sunshine, the annual sunshine hours are required to be more than 2000 hours, if the plant is in a damp environment, it will be stunted and senescent quickly.

Soil condition

Lavender has a well-developed root system, and it is not suitable to grow in fertile soils with deep, loose, good permeability and rich silicon and calcium, acidic or alkaline soils and plots with heavy viscosity, poor drainage or high groundwater level.
