Red dots turn black and expand into papules for prevention and treatment of porcine dermatitis and nephrotic syndrome
In spring and summer, porcine dermatitis nephrotic syndrome often occurs in adult pigs and nursery piglets in most pig farms. The skin of affected pigs showed acute red, pink or even purpuric skin rash, but it was significantly different from scabies dermatitis, exudative dermatitis and swine pox.

1. Clinical symptoms:
The skin of diseased pigs appeared scattered spotted papules, which were red dots at the initial stage, then developed into red, purplish red round or irregular protuberance, and gradually blackened and expanded to papules from the central point, and the lesions were often patchy. The lesions mainly occur in the back, buttocks, both sides of the torso, and can extend to the abdomen and limbs. If the disease is serious, the lesions will spread all over the body. In pig farms with severe external parasites (scabies mites) infection, the symptoms of the disease are relatively obvious; individual pigs develop fever, often gather together, claudication, loss of appetite, gradual weight loss, conjunctivitis, yellow watery feces, shortness of breath and even secondary diseases and die of failure.
2. Prevention and control measures:
The main results are as follows: (1) strengthening the ventilation of pig house, reducing the temperature and humidity of pig house and properly reducing the feeding density of pig herd can relatively reduce the incidence of the disease. The environment of pig farm and pig house were strictly disinfected with compound aldehyde disinfectant and sprayed on the diseased part of pig once or twice a day for 5 days. And do a good job of mosquito control in pig farms on a regular basis.
(2) when the weather is muggy, weaning, immunity and pig herds are turned around, a variety of vitamins are added to drinking water to enhance body quality and reduce stress. Do a good job of deworming pigs, put compound insect repellent in feed to eliminate the harm of scabies mites.
(3) adding mycotoxin treatment agent. During the period of high incidence of the disease, rainy season or high wet season, mycotoxin treatment agents should be added to pig feed. General mycotoxin adsorbents can only absorb aflatoxins. It is best to choose some new broad-spectrum mycotoxin treatment agents, which can not only degrade mycotoxins, but also absorb a variety of mycotoxins and promote pig growth, enhance liver detoxification function, and prevent mycotoxins in feed from harming the health of pigs. To eliminate the important factors causing porcine dermatitis and nephrotic syndrome (PDNS).
(4) perfect drug prevention program should be adopted to control secondary bacterial infection in pigs. Commonly used drugs: doxycycline, tylosin, amoxicillin and so on. In sows before and 1 week after delivery, piglets were given drugs in advance before and after weaning and during lactation.
(5) pigs with severe symptoms can be injected with ceftiofur or long-acting doxycycline and dexamethasone, and suspend vaccination against foot-and-mouth disease, porcine lung disease and erysipelas.
