The temperature increases rapidly in summer, which is prone to cow epidemic fever, which leads to the decrease of milk yield. In order to ensure the benefit of dairy farming, dairy farms (households) must do a good job in the prevention and control of cow epidemic fever.

Cow

Cow epidemic fever is an acute infectious disease caused by rhabdovirus, which spreads quickly, has a wide epidemic range and has a high incidence. Cows of different genders and ages can be infected. Most cows can return to normal about 3 days after the onset of the disease, so it is also known as "three-day fever", which mostly occurs in summer or in the season with high temperature.

1. Pathogen: the pathogen of the disease is rhabdovirus, which belongs to vesicular virus. It is not resistant to heat and can be inactivated in 10 minutes at 56 ℃. The disease is transmitted by air, and dairy cows spread quickly in the same slot and in the same field.

Second, symptoms: cow epidemic fever virus mainly attacks the respiratory system and motor system of dairy cows, and the clinical symptoms are diverse. The general symptoms were elevated body temperature, up to 39.5 ℃ ~ 43 ℃, hyperactivity of heart sound, mental malaise, conjunctival congestion, tears, salivation, runny nose, and some acute symptoms of dyspnea. Poor appetite, ruminating less, gastrointestinal peristalsis weakened or stopped, stool dry and less. Sudden decline in milk production, joint pain, limping, front and hindquarters muscle trembling, unstable gait or lying down. Often complicated with emphysema or paralysis, which can lead to miscarriage or stillbirth.

Prevention and treatment: for cows with high body temperature, 5ml × 10 branches of Qingzengan injection should be used in time, and 5 mg × 10 doses of dexamethasone sodium phosphate injection should be used in empty cattle. When the disease is mild, it can recover within 2-3 days.

For cows with respiratory tract as the main symptom, 30 ml of analgin injection and 3 million ~ 4 million units of procaine penicillin were injected intramuscularly, once or twice a day, usually cured after 2 ~ 3 days. In severe cases, streptomycin or kanamycin can be increased by intramuscular injection of 4g or 8g, once or twice a day. Or take the jugular vein to bleed 1000ml to 2000ml, and then slowly inject the same amount of glucose and sodium chloride injection into the vein. When breathing is extremely difficult, oxygen can also be infused through the nasal cavity or abdominal cavity and under the skin.

For cows with paralysis as the main symptom, in addition to the above-mentioned treatment measures, 1 gram of thiamine hydrochloride or furan thiamine injection can be injected intramuscularly 0.2-0.3 grams per day, and 10% calcium gluconate injection 500-1000 ml intravenously. At the same time, supplement 10% potassium chloride injection 100 ml, generally after 1 to 3 days to achieve the effect. In severe cases, thiamine hydrochloride can be injected through Baihui acupoint and Dazhe acupoint, or stimulated by electricity at Baihui, Shenshu and Shenjiao acupoints or irradiated with specific electromagnetic waves (TDP).

For the sick cattle that can not stand up after symptomatic treatment with medicine, the method can be broiled with vinegar bran: 10 kg wheat bran, 10 kg vinegar, stir-fry to 60 ℃ in an iron pan, then pack two sacks, tie the mouth and iron the waist and crotch alternately, for 1 hour each time, once a day, several times until the sick cow can stand by itself.
