Calf

Look at the trough:

The calves look up and walk away slowly without eating the feed in the trough, which indicates that the calves are fed too much (calves within 4 weeks of age have not formed the habit of eating feed, and some feed will be left in the trough after each feeding). If the bottom and wall of the trough are only licked like a map, it means that the amount of feed is moderate; if the trough is licked clean, it means there is not enough feed.

Look at the feces:

The feces of calves are increasing day by day, and the feces are slightly thicker than that of pure milk, indicating that the amount of feeding is normal. With the increase of feeding quantity, the defecation time of calves formed a new rule, which mostly defecated before and after feeding every morning and evening. The feces are melted together in innumerable lumps, shiny and soft like adult cow droppings. If the feces of the calves are shaped like porridge, it means that there is too much feeding; if the feces are as thin as swill, and the buttocks are stained with wet dung, it means that the feeding is too large or the water is too cold. At this time, as long as stop feeding twice, and then add powdered corn, wheat bran and so on, cow diarrhea can be stopped.

Look at the eclipse:

When the feeding time is fixed, the calf can form a conditioned reflex after more than 10 days. Every day, as soon as the feeding time comes, the calf will run to look for food, which means that the feeding quantity is normal. If the calf wanders in front of the feeding room after eating clean food, it looks at the breeder and refuses to leave, indicating that the feeding quantity is insufficient. If the calf is unwilling to come to the trough and the call of the breeder is ignored, it means that the calf was fed too much last time, or the cow may have a disease.

Look at the belly:

When feeding, if the calf has obvious abdominal depression and refuses to eat in front of the trough, it means that the calf may catch a cold or suffer from cold; if the belly depression of the calf is obvious, the appetite response is also very strong, but just smell it in front of the trough and walk away for a while, indicating that the feed change is too big and unpalatable, or the humidity of the feed water is too high or too low. If the belly of the calf is dilated and does not eat, it means that the calf ate too much last time and stopped feeding once can get better.
