1. Selection of varieties: select traditional fine varieties, such as Gansu "Kushui Rose", Shandong "Pingyin Rose", Beijing "Miaofengshan Rose", etc. (traditional roses bloom once in late spring and early summer). Or choose the hybrid "double-season rose" in recent years, also known as "multi-season rose" (can blossom twice a year), it is best to choose the "Dutch four Seasons Rose" introduced in recent years, which has strong fragrance and many essential oils. Flowering sterility (flowering is not strong), can continue to blossom all the year round.

2. Rootstock selection and preparation: mountain rose or general rose can be used as rootstock. Collect and dig before sprouting in early winter or early spring, concentrate on seedling beds, irrigate them thoroughly, cultivate well, and wait for grafting.

3. Grafting time: it can be grafted before sprouting in spring and in summer, autumn and early winter when the branches are mature and the buds in leaf axils are full.

4. Grafting: choose your favorite variety in advance and start grafting after drying in the dew on a sunny morning. The scion chooses the branches that are born in the same year, use the strong, full, disease-free and injury-free branches as the scion, cut the ear bud with a sharp knife, with a cortex of 1 cm long and 0.5 cm wide around the cut bud, and a little xylem layer under the cortex. The root rootstock also selects one-year-old mature branches, 5-10 cm from the ground, cut the same incision on the rootstock branches, stick the scion close to the cut of the rootstock, align the cortex, peel off the petiole, expose the bud eyes, and wrap it tightly with a plastic belt (plastic belt can choose a plastic film 0.03-0.06 cm thick, cut to grow a long strip 20-25 cm, 1-1.2 cm wide).

5. Management after grafting: after grafting, water should be watered once in time, and it will be watered again later. Hit the tip and flatten the top once to retain nutrients and promote the growth of buds. Start sprouting 7-10 days after grafting, leave 1-1.5 cm above the scion, and cut off the excess parts above. Usually, the tillering buds on the root rootstock should be erased, leaving only the panicle buds to grow. 25-30 days after grafting, the cortex healed completely and the plastic bandage was removed. It can blossom and come out of the nursery about 30 days after grafting, and pay attention to the prevention and control of diseases and insect pests before coming out of the nursery.
