In winter, the weather is cold and the temperature is low, many cattle friends have found that the growth rate of beef cattle is getting slower and slower. So, how can we make beef cattle grow fast enough in winter? In addition to meeting the needs of cattle for various nutrients in winter, there are two problems that need to be solved: one is sunlight, the other is activity. In other words, let the cattle eat, less activity, more sun, there are many ways, today to introduce to cattle friends, how can beef cattle grow faster in winter? Niu friends can refer to these methods and see which methods can be used by themselves!

First, pay attention to the temperature of the sheep shed and remember to keep warm

The growth rate of beef cattle in winter has a lot to do with the temperature. First of all, the lower the temperature, the more energy cattle consume to protect themselves from the cold, and the corresponding growth rate of cattle will decrease. Secondly, if the temperature is low and the gastrointestinal peristalsis is slow, there will be a decrease in food intake and malabsorption. Temperature has a great effect on feed consumption and weight gain of fattening cattle. The most suitable temperature of the barn is 10-20 ℃. When the average temperature of the barn is lower than 7 ℃, the heat produced by the cattle increases, the feed intake increases, and the feed application efficiency decreases. When the temperature was more than 27 ℃, the body temperature increased, the number of respiration increased, the appetite decreased, and the weight gain was affected. Therefore, attention should be paid to ventilation and cooling in summer and cold prevention in winter to make the cowshed warm in winter and cool in summer.

If you want beef cattle to grow fast in winter, it is crucial to keep warm. The best growth temperature for beef cattle is 10-21 ℃. Of course, many barns do not reach 10 ℃ in winter, so try to keep the barn above 5 ℃.

2. Many cattle farmers also feed cold water to their cattle in winter, but warm water is more beneficial to the growth of cattle.

Beef cattle fed with warm water in winter can gain more than 20% more weight than beef cattle fed with cold water. This is because cold water stimulates the bovine stomach and intestines and reduces the absorption rate.

Third, most of the Inner Mongolia areas in China are grazing, of course, there are also grazing in other areas, so we should pay attention to increasing the concentrate feed for cattle.

Due to the low nutritional value of subtilis in winter, grazing alone is difficult to meet the nutritional needs. Only by properly increasing the amount of concentrate feed, beef cattle can grow faster. In some areas, it is not right to feed concentrate, which is corn flour or wheat bran, only when it is at its coldest in winter.

Remember to supplement trace elements

In winter, due to the lack of fresh forage grass, beef cattle will lack trace elements and cause slow growth. Cattle premix should be added to the feed and salt bricks should be hung in the barn. When choosing cow premix, you must choose regular manufacturers, because some informal manufacturers may use pig and chicken feed as cow material, which is very harmful.

Fifth, more attention should be paid to disease prevention in cattle farms in winter.

Deworming and stomach strengthening must be carried out. Daily management should keep the enclosure sanitary, do not feed moldy and rotten feed, ensure adequate drinking water, keep the environment quiet, carry out captive breeding and reduce exercise, so as to achieve the ideal weight gain effect. The growth rate of sick cattle is bound to decline, especially some of the more serious diseases, cattle may not be able to recover for a long time. Now the most common occurrence is foot-and-mouth disease. Recently, many cattle friends have said that cattle have this disease. In order to prevent the disease, we should first make a good vaccine for the cattle, then strengthen the feeding and management to enhance the physique of the cattle, and finally do a good job of disinfection and hygiene.

There is another trick that you may not have used, and that is to feed oil.

Feeding oil in winter can also increase the growth rate of beef cattle to a certain extent. The energy content of oil is high, and cattle can protect against cold after feeding. If you feed oil in other seasons, it will lead to too much fat and it will be difficult to sell the price. Winter oil feeding, most of them are absorbed to protect against the cold, generally will not have the problem of too much fat. The amount of feed must be grasped, according to the size of the cow, feed 100g 300g a day. Like the usual soybean oil at home, you can mix and feed it.

7. Feed well

The protein content in the feed should account for 12%, and the aged fattening cattle should account for more than 10%. If the content is lower than the above content, it will affect the weight gain rate of the cattle. The proportion of roughage in cattle diet should account for 30-40%. At present, the quality of roughage fed to cattle in rural areas is too poor, and the digestibility is very low, so we should improve palatability, increase nutrition and digestibility by means of shortening, silage, ammoniation, saccharification and so on. The fineness of feed crushing affects not only the palatability, feed intake and daily gain of fattening cattle, but also the feed conversion rate and feed cost. Feed can not be crushed too fine, too fine will affect cattle ruminating and digestion, easy to cause food stagnation. Concentrate feed is generally crushed into 2-3 mm. In addition, the feed of professional beef cattle fattening stage can also be used, which is aimed at the nutritional needs of energy, protein, vitamins, trace elements and cellulose of beef cattle during fattening period.

8. Increase the "source of life"

At present, "zearalanol" and "life source" are widely used in our country. Because it does not belong to steroids, nor does it belong to hormone drugs, the average weight gain rate of adding the above weight gain agent to the feed is more than 10% Rich 20%. The weight gain agent is non-toxic, tasteless, no side effects, no meat residue, and is safe and reliable.

If the above methods can be used nine times out of ten, your beef cattle will not look bad. In addition, some raise Simmental, mainly beginners, do not know that male calves fattening generally multiple hurdles, professionals suggest 1200-1600 hurdles is better.
