Peony, also known as "king of flowers" and "flower of wealth and honor", has been praised as a national beauty since the Tang Dynasty, symbolizing perfection, wealth, auspiciousness and prosperity. Now many people like to raise a peony in the garden. But how to raise peonies? this is also a problem troubling flower lovers. Let's take a look at how to raise peonies.

The growing environment of peony flowers

Peony likes to grow in a sunny environment, so put it in a sunny, ventilated place, put it outdoors in spring and autumn, and move it to a cool environment when it is hot and rainy in summer. avoid the exposure of the hot sun and torrential rain, and put the peony indoors in the sunny place in winter to avoid its growth affected by too low temperature.

Fertilization method of Peony Flower

During the growing period of peony, it is necessary to ensure that it has enough nutrients in order to grow rapidly, so it is necessary to fertilize it regularly. Usually, it should be fertilized once or twice a week during its growth, preferably after mixing water with water. This helps it to better absorb its nutrients, it can be irrigated once a day during flowering, and the frequency and quantity of fertilization should be reduced after flowering. There is no need to apply fertilizer during the dormant period of peony flowers in winter.

Watering methods of peony flowers

The peony flower is resistant to drought and afraid of stagnant water, so it is appropriate to water too much water when breeding. If it is watered too much, it is easy to make the branches and leaves grow, and the soil is too wet for a long time or stagnant water will lead to rotten roots of the peony. Therefore, in summer and autumn, it is necessary to control the moisture of the peony soil, usually only watering in the early morning or night in summer, and as long as the soil is not too dry in autumn.

Conservation of peony flowers in four seasons

1. Spring management: change the basin once a year when the temperature is stable at 10 ℃ in spring. Handle it gently when you take off the basin to prevent the sphere from being knocked off the rootstock. After removing the pot, the dead roots and broken roots were removed, dried for 3 to 5 days, and then planted in a semi-shady place. Do not water temporarily, only spray 2-3 times a day or put it in a place with high humidity, a small amount of water can be watered half a month later, and the water supply will be gradually increased after the new roots grow out one month later.

2. Summer management: when the summer temperature is hot, the peony should be cultivated in a place with morning and evening light to maintain an adequate water supply, but watering should be dry and wet, and pay attention to spray around it several times a day and strengthen ventilation to cool down. After the temperature is cool at the end of summer, it should be moved to a place with plenty of light for cultivation.

3. Autumn management: in autumn, peony should be cultivated in a place with sufficient light but no rain, and it is better to see the soil dry for water. After the weather is getting cooler, the amount of water can be gradually reduced, making the basin soil dry until dormancy. When the outdoor temperature drops to the right of 10 ℃, it should be moved into a closed balcony or room with light.

4. Winter management: peony is not cold-tolerant, and the indoor temperature should be kept above 8 ℃ in winter, preferably around 0 ℃. Potted plants should be placed on the windowsill or balcony with sufficient light to cultivate, pay attention to water control, so that the basin soil is dry, the lower the temperature, the drier the basin soil should be.
