Green radish grows in tropical areas, often climbing to grow on the rocks and trunks of rainforests, its entanglement is strong, aerial roots are developed, and it can be planted in hydroponic culture. The propagation method of green radish usually adopts cuttage method. Let's take a look at the propagation method of green radish together!

Green radish layering propagation method

Plating propagation is the most successful propagation method. The stolon of green radish is pressed into the soil, and the ramets can be cut off after the aerial roots are produced.

Water insertion propagation method of green radish

Green radish can also be inserted with terminal bud water, first cut tender and strong stems 20~30cm long as a section, directly inserted in a bottle filled with water, change water every 2~3 days, more than 10 days can take root and survive. Potted green radish due to the limitation of pot soil, cultivation time is too long easy to make plants aging, leaves become smaller and fall off. Therefore, it is necessary to change pots or prune and renew after 2 to 3 years of cultivation.

Cuttage propagation method of green radish

The propagation of green radish usually adopts cuttage method. At the end of spring and early summer, healthy green radish vines are selected, branches of 15 cm to 30 cm are cut, leaves of 1 to 2 nodes at the base are removed, attention is paid not to damage aerial roots, and then inserted into plain sand or coal slag, the depth is 1/3 of the cutting ear, enough water is placed in the shade, and the leaves are sprayed or covered with plastic film to keep moisture every day. As long as the environment is kept not lower than 20 DEG C, the survival rate is above 90%.

1. Selection and treatment of cuttings: The cuttings should be selected from semi-lignified branches with strong growth and no diseases and insect pests, cut into 10-13 cm long, cut into oblique mouth at the lower incision, leave 2-3 leaves at the upper end, and cut off half of the leaves to reduce water evaporation and facilitate the survival of cuttings.

2, cuttage substrate: cuttage substrate requirements loose breathable, good drainage, high humus loam or sandy soil, it is best to use vermiculite, so rooting fast, high survival rate. Disinfect soil with 2% formalin or 5% potassium permanganate before insertion.

3. Cutting method: dip the prepared cuttings into ABT rooting powder or indolebutyric acid, insert them into the prepared matrix, bury 1/2 of them, irrigate them with water, make the cuttings closely contact with the matrix, and then cover them with plastic film.

4. Post-insertion management

① Pay attention to keeping the soil moist and high air temperature after planting. The soil humidity is about 50%, while the air humidity is 80%-90%.

2. The shade degree of shade shed at the initial stage of cuttage should be kept at about 80%, which can not only prevent direct sunlight from strong light, but also ensure enough scattered light to facilitate photosynthesis of leafy cuttings and rooting.

3. Through the above treatment, roots are basically rooted after 20 days, film can be removed, light can be increased, leaf spray and shade should still be paid attention to in sunny summer, cold protection should be paid in winter, and normal management can be carried out in pots about 10 days after rooting.
