Okra is warm in nature, originating in India and widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions. China's Hunan, Hubei, Guangdong and other provinces also have a very wide cultivation area, known as the king of vegetables, with high economic use and edible value. Let's take a look at the pest control techniques of okra.

Epidemic disease

[hazard characteristics] okra can be infected at both seedling stage and adult stage. when the seedling is 20 cm long, the disease spot spreads from the leaf to the main stem, causing the stem to become thinner and fade, until the whole plant wilts or falls down. the leaf infection usually starts from the lower leaf tip or leaf green of the plant, and turns brown after enlargement.

[prevention and treatment methods] 72% manganese zinc, downy urea WP 500 times solution or 69% Anke manganese zinc WP900 times solution or 64% antivirus alum WP400 times solution or 58% metalaxyl were used at the initial stage of the disease, and the manganese zinc WP500 times solution was sprayed once every 7-10 days to prevent and cure it for 2-3 times.

Viral disease

[hazard characteristics] virus disease is the main disease in okra production, which is more serious in adult plant stage than in seedling stage, and the whole plant is damaged after infection, especially in the top delicate leaves, which show mosaic or brown markings. Early infection, plant dwarfism, fruiting little or no fruiting.

[control methods] do not leave seeds from the diseased field, select disease-resistant varieties, use 5% bacteriorubicin WP400-500fold liquid or 20% virus AWP400 solution or 15% Zhishanling 1000-fold solution or 83% resistance enhancer for 3 times, once every 7-10 days.

Poisonous caterpillar

[hazard characteristics] the poisonous caterpillar mainly harms okra at the seedling stage, which often feeds on the mesophyll after emergence and retains the leaf vein when it is serious.

[control method] spray with 10% EC1500 or 5% Ruijin SC1500 solution or avermectin EC+ fenvalerate EC3000 solution.

Liriomyza huidobrensis

[hazard characteristics] damage can occur in the whole growing period of okra, mainly damage leaves.

[control methods] 1.8% avermectin EC (avermectin) 5000 times solution or 52.25% Nongdile EC1000 times solution or 48% Lexben EC1000 times solution or 5% Regent SC800 times solution can be used for prevention and control.

Aphids

[hazard characteristics] okra can occur in the whole growing period, especially in the adult stage.

[control methods] 3000 times solution of imidacloprid pesticides such as 10% once clean, 10% aphid lice net 10% and so on can be used.

Ant

[hazard characteristics] ants often gather on the flower apparatus after okra blossoms.

[control method] spray 48% EC1000 solution or 5% Regent EC1500 solution or scatter sawdust in the place where the ants come out with 0.3% Regent.

Ground tiger

[hazard characteristics] the ground tiger goes out day and night and often bites off the main stem at seedling stage, resulting in seedling breakage.

[prevention and control methods] Sugar and vinegar solution is commonly used to lure and catch or dig to catch in the early morning, but also can be killed with special pesticides.
