Planting time of scallions
Green onion is a kind of spring onion. There are many seedlings and transplants in the producing areas of green onions in northern China, and most of the main producing areas in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River are sown in autumn, but it is necessary to strictly control the seedlings no more than 3 leaves before winter, and most of them are sown in spring to the south of the Yellow River. We should pay close attention to sowing when the local temperature reaches 7 ℃. Let's take a look at the planting time of green onions.
Planting conditions of scallions
1. Soil: Welsh onion is suitable for loam cultivation of pH6.5-7.5. the seedling land should be loose and loose, the soil moisture should be sufficient, the topsoil should be prevented from hardening in the seedling stage, the seedlings should be fertilized once when the seedlings begin to grow rapidly, and the soil moisture should be controlled 10-15 days before planting.
2. Fertilizer: green onion likes fertilizer, and requires balanced application of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. There are more requirements for nitrogen fertilizer in the early stage of growth and more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer in the later stage. Special attention should be paid to the application of phosphate fertilizer, because the lack of phosphate fertilizer will lead to poor plant growth and decrease in yield. At the same time, attention should be paid to the content of sulfur in the spring onion field, and the lack of sulfur in the soil will affect the effect of increasing production.
3. Temperature: green onions are resistant to stress, both cold and heat resistant. Although temperature has little effect on the growth of Welsh onion in general, the suitable temperature condition is beneficial to high quality and high yield.
4. Moisture: the root hair of green onion is less, and the ability of absorbing water and fertilizer is poor. The root system is mostly distributed on the surface of the soil, which likes humidity and requires high soil moisture, but the root system is afraid of waterlogging. High temperature and high humidity can easily cause root death.
5. Light: green onions require moderate light intensity. Because the tubular leaves of scallions can still get good light conditions under the condition of close planting, there is no need for strong light. Strong light has adverse effects on the growth of green onions, resulting in aging of leaves, increase of fiber, decline of quality, and even loss of edible value.
Planting time of scallions
1. Autumn planting time: sowing in the first ten days of September in the first autumn, overwintering with seedlings, planting in the first and middle of May in the second year, harvesting before winter, overwintering in cellar or open field, drawing lots to blossom in the spring of the third year, and harvesting seeds in the second season. The seedlings can be listed as spring onions from the first ten days of May to the end of June; they can also be planted in flat border (matching green onions) or narrowed row spacing into gully spring onions before and after the Beginning of Summer, or as early spring shallot supply after overwintering.
2. Planting time in spring: sowing seeds after soil thawing in early spring, supplying spring onions before hot summer, or harvesting as dried onions or gully onions in the same year after planting. It can also be used for overwintering as shallot or as a seed plant.
3. Summer planting time: most of the sowing time is from late July to early August, so it is also called spring onion. The plant is larger when it is overwintering in that year. It is easy to complete the vernalization process, sprouts early and blossoms quickly in the next spring. It usually goes on the market after being followed by scallion.
Planting method of Welsh Onion
The main results are as follows: 1. Before planting, the large and small seedlings are separated, and the diseased seedlings, weak seedlings, over-small seedlings and obviously curved seedlings are excluded. The plant spacing is 35-40 plants per meter, the row spacing is 1 meter, and about 23000 seedlings are planted per mu. Avoid the breaking of green onion seedlings when planting, the planting depth is not to bury the green onion heart, too deep is not suitable for seedling, too shallow affects the length of green onion. When planting, the leaf surface and planting ditch should be arranged in a vertical direction, which is beneficial to close planting and management.
2. Planting tools can use iron cuttings or wood poles with a diameter of about 1.5 centimeters. When planting, make shallow holes first, perpendicular to the ground, then insert the seedlings, and then lift them up slightly to make the roots spread down and keep the onion seedlings straight. If the stem is bent until later harvested, it will become inferior.
3. The planting should be planted on the same side of the onion ditch, which is beneficial to drainage after rain.
4. After planting, the loose soil on both sides of the onion plant was compacted, and then watered thoroughly.
