Cabbage scientific name kale, originated in the Euro-Mediterranean region, is now widely cultivated in various parts of our country, is one of the common vegetables, the planting time and environmental conditions are not strict, let's take a look at the planting time of cabbage!

Planting time of cabbage

Cabbage has strong adaptability, both cold and heat-resistant, and can be cultivated in open field in spring, summer and autumn in northern China. In the alpine areas of Northeast, Northwest and North China, there are more seedlings raised in spring and summer, summer planting and autumn harvest, long growing period and large leaf bulbs. Some cities in North China, Northeast and Northwest China are mainly cultivated in spring and autumn, and multiple stubble cultivation can also be carried out.

Planting density of cabbage

1. Early-maturing varieties: the plant spacing is 33-40 cm, planting 4000-6000 plants per mu.

2. Mid-mature varieties: the plant spacing is 45-50 cm, and 2500-3000 plants are planted per mu.

3. Late-maturing varieties: the plant spacing is 60-65 cm, with 1500-1800 plants per plant.

Planting conditions of cabbage

Cabbage has the same environmental requirements as Chinese cabbage, but it has wider adaptability and stronger resistance than Chinese cabbage.

1. Temperature: cabbage likes mild climate, can resist severe frost and high temperature. The suitable temperature during the heading period is 15-20 °C, but the suitable temperature range is 7-25 °C. the seedlings can tolerate the low temperature of-15 °C and the high temperature of 35 °C.

2. Soil: cabbage requires sufficient soil moisture and moist air. If the soil is dry, it will affect the pilling and reduce the yield.

3. Light: cabbage is a long-day crop with wide adaptability to light intensity, and the light saturation point is 30000-50000lx.

4. Fertilizer: cabbage is a kind of fertilizer-loving and durable fertilizer crop, which absorbs more fertilizer, needs more nitrogen fertilizer at seedling stage and rosette stage, and needs more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer at heading stage. The proportion of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium absorbed in the whole growing period is about 3:1:4. For each production of 1000kg leaf balls, nitrogen 4. 1-4.8kg, phosphorus 0. 12-0.13kg and potassium 4. 9-5.4kg were absorbed. On the basis of sufficient nitrogen fertilizer and combined application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, there is an obvious effect of increasing yield.
