The 2014 Media Exhibition of Creative inventions and Business opportunities in Taiwan will be unveiled at the Taipei World Trade Center from May 28 to 29, and will warm up before the exhibition starts yesterday.

Huang Wenrong, secretary-general of the Trade Association, said that more than 150 manufacturers participated in the first event, and more than 600 media cooperation fairs are expected.

He pointed out that the main goal of the government this year is to fight for the economy. Taiwan is facing two major challenges: regional economic integration and industrial restructuring. In response to the government's determination to start a business with Jinting, the Trade Association will use its marketing expertise to build a new creative and investment platform to create more new business opportunities.

Huang Wenrong points out that Taiwan is an island of creativity. According to the National Science Council, including the world's top three invention exhibitions, including Geneva in Switzerland, Nuremberg in Germany, and Pittsburgh in the United States, Taiwan has won an average of about 220 awards a year. According to the statistics of the US Patent Office, the average number of patents per million people in Taiwan in 2013 was 518, ranking first in the world and more than 466 in the United States.

He says that creativity is Taiwan's biggest asset, but the proportion of commercialization is only 3%, which is much lower than the world average of 3%. It is a pity that many inventions and ideas have not been favored by entrepreneurs.

Huang Wenrong expressed the hope that through the media platform, more businesses can find creative inventions worth investing in and create a new driving force for Taiwan's economy.

The press conference also displayed several gold medal-winning works of overseas well-known invention exhibitions, including the "Dandelion Mirror seed Mirror" designed by China University, which won the German Red Dot Communication Design Award in 2013 and the iF Communication Design Award in 2014.
