On 4G Cai Lixing: competing with Hon Hai
Chunghwa Telecom Chairman Cai Lixing said in a radio interview yesterday that there will be not only competition but also cooperation with rival Hon Hai, possibly in terms of hardware and equipment.
Cai Lixing accepted an exclusive interview with Zhou Yukong, host of Hit Fm's "Coco Breakfast", focusing on 4G-related issues, including the rights and interests of consumers after CLP 4G hit the road, and how CLP competes with its competitor Hon Hai.
4G joined the new rival Hon Hai, not only poaching the former Chunghwa Telecom chairman Lu Xuejin, but also a large-scale recruitment of talent. Tsai Li-Xing believes that whether in the semiconductor industry in the past or in the telecommunications industry today, competition is the norm. Tsai Li-Xing pointed out that the competition in the 4G market is fierce, and the Taiwan market is not big, and the pressure is certainly increasing, but there is already competition and cooperation between companies. I hope to find opportunities for cooperation with Hon Hai Chairman Terry Gou. In the end, both sides hope to provide the best service to the country and society.
He added that "we will always meet and have a chat with our competitors," and it is inconvenient to talk about the details of the conversation. I believe that both CLP and Gou are looking for profit, and the cooperation between the two sides may be in terms of hardware and equipment.
Cai Lixing said that South Korea has been two years ahead of Taiwan, the United States and Japan both have 4G, Taiwan is in a hurry to catch up, CLP is actively laying out 4G, has layout for LTE Addvanced and 5G, and will have a close cooperative relationship with the supply chain.
