Asparagus planting, whether it is direct seeding cultivation or seedling transplanting cultivation, must carry out strict seed treatment before sowing. Do you know what are the treatment methods before asparagus seed planting? The following editor will introduce the treatment methods of asparagus seeds before planting.

Pre-planting treatment of asparagus seed

First of all, soak the dried seeds in hot water at 55-58 degrees Celsius to kill germs inside and outside the seeds. When soaking the seeds, it is required that after the seeds are put into hot water, the water temperature should be kept at 54-56 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes, and the seeds should be stirred regularly. When the temperature drops to 54 degrees Celsius, the heat should be increased from more than 70 degrees Celsius to 56 degrees Celsius. After soaking for 20 minutes, immediately pour out hot water, add cold water of about 25 degrees Celsius to cool, then scrub the seeds by hand for 10-15 seconds, and then soak the seeds in clean water.

The amount of water soaked in asparagus seeds should be more than 5 cm higher than that of asparagus seeds, and the water should be changed once every morning and evening. Each time you change the water, you should scrub the seeds with your hands and scrub off the sticky material on the surface of the seeds. The strength of scrubbing is lighter and lighter each time.

Soak at 20-25 degrees Celsius for 72 hours, drain, place in a clean basin or plate, cover with wet cloth, germinate at 25-28 degrees Celsius for 24 hours, and sow seeds. At this time, it can be seen that a small number of seeds have broken their breasts and exposed white. It has been reported that it will germinate for 48 hours or more and wait for the seeds to grow into radicles before sowing. This is easy to damage the radicle in practice.

Reasons why asparagus seeds need to be treated

As long as the soaking time is sufficient and the water temperature is kept at 20-25 degrees Celsius, after 3 days of soaking, seedlings can begin to emerge about 10 days after sowing. Some people worry that soaking seeds in hot water at 55 degrees Celsius will affect seed germination. the results of comparative experiments show that seeds treated with hot water at 55 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes can improve the germination rate and germination energy of seeds, and effectively kill the germs carried by seeds. it is an effective measure to prevent stem blight transmitted by seeds.

Matters needing attention in asparagus seed treatment

1. The water temperature of soaking treatment must be accurately grasped, and the extensive method of three-to-one cooling should not be used to replace the thermometer measurement method. It is required that the water temperature of the seed should reach 57-58 degrees Celsius before it is put in, and it can be reduced to about 55 degrees Celsius after the seed is put in.

2. Soak at 54-56 degrees Celsius for no less than 20 minutes.

3. Immediately after soaking treatment, pour hot water and add cold water to cool down. If the seed cannot be soaked in warm soup without a thermometer or without relevant conditions, soak the seed in cold water for 48 hours and then soak it in 50% carbendazim solution of 500 times of 1 Groud for 24 hours. The solution must be 2-3 cm higher than the seed. After soaking, drain the solution and sow the seed. In order to prevent the seeds from sticking to their fingers and sticking to each other due to moisture during sowing, a little dry fine soil or coal ash can be used to remove surface moisture and disperse the seeds.

Seedling raising technique of asparagus seed

The main results are as follows: 1. The selection of good varieties is the basis of growing asparagus. Can choose Grande, champion, Shuofeng, asparagus prince, emperors and other excellent asparagus species.

2. Seed treatment: seeds must be soaked and germinated before sowing. Before soaking the seeds, rinse the seeds with clean water to remove the blighted seeds, then soak the seeds in warm water for 3 days, change the water twice a day, pour out the water after the seeds are fully absorbed, cover and wash the towels to promote sprouting, rinse with clean water twice a day to prevent stuffy seeds, and sow seeds after more than 10% of the seeds are exposed.

3. Sowing: before sowing, fill the border with sufficient moisture, draw lines according to the row spacing of 10 cm, sow the single seed in the box, cover it with 2 cm thick sifted fine soil, spread a layer of straw or grass to preserve moisture in summer, and transplant when the aboveground stem grows to 30 cm or grow more than three. According to the conditions, it is best to adopt nutrition bowl to raise seedlings.

Before ① soil preparation, 45% Schnanning + 50% Raptor is sprayed with 10kg 3muri per mu, and the ground surface is sprayed and then watered, which can disinfect the soil, control root rot and blight.

After sowing, ② can sprinkle a small amount of bait on the surface, such as phoxim granules mixed with wheat bran, grain bran, etc., or sprinkle 2kg for 100 days to control underground pests such as ground tigers and mole crickets.

4. Note: it is the time to raise asparagus seedlings from March to September every year. The seedlings were raised in spring from March to May, summer from June to July and autumn from August to September. Overwintering seedlings, watering before freezing, setting up a small arch shed at the end of October can prolong the seedling growth time, and can also spread a layer of soil fertilizer or wheat straw on the open field seedlings to make the seedlings survive the winter safely.
