Shan Ji, vice chairman of the Foreign Trade Association, led the "2014 Central and South American niche Industry Promotion Group". A few days ago, trade talks were held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to expand niche industries such as auto parts, electronics, hardware and machinery.

The fair was jointly opened by Shan Ji, Xu Guangpu, representative of the Republic of China in Brazil, and Yan Yibin, director of the Brazilian Taiwan Trade Center. About 250 buyers of Brazilian enterprises participated in the talks. Shan Ji pointed out that the enterprises participating in the marketing mission are all small and medium-sized enterprises with high flexibility, and they provide high-quality, innovative, and market competitive products. Introducing these excellent Taiwanese manufacturers to Brazil is a win-win move.

Shan Ji said that although Brazil is a key market favored by Taiwan businessmen, it has encountered difficulties in export and investment, mainly because the Brazilian government has adopted excessive protectionism in its economic policies.

For example, although Brazil and Chinese mainland are both big economies with great market potential, their development strategies are different and their economic performance is also different: the mainland has attracted more foreign investment because of its greater openness, while Brazil has closed its market. It has caused all kinds of troubles and obstacles to foreign investment.

Brazil is the country with the largest number of anti-dumping investigations in the World Trade Organization (WTO). At present, it is the anti-dumping investigation of the Brazilian government that has become a disguised obstacle to trade. Shan Ji pointed out that the purpose of trade protectionism is to promote investment, increase national income, and improve the domestic economy, but Brazil has long implemented a protection policy, but it is still ineffective. If the Brazilian government continues to close its doors, it will be difficult to get out of its own day.

Brazil is the last leg of the marketing delegation's trip, and has visited Mexico, Colombia and Ecuador before. Among them, Colombia is estimated to have won a total of 30.195 million US dollars in sales opportunities, writing down the achievements of the trade association's marketing delegation.
