Low temperature obstacle of cucumber

Due to the weak low temperature tolerance of cucumber, continuous low temperature will cause a variety of symptoms, mainly in the following aspects:

The main results are as follows: 1. When sowing, the ground temperature is too low, and the delay of seed germination and emergence leads to yellow and weak seedlings, retting seeds or occurrence of quenching disease, root rot and so on. Some unearthed seedlings have white edges on the edge of cotyledons, leaves turn yellow and roots do not grow.

2. If the ground temperature is lower than 12 ℃ for a long time, the root tip turns yellow or the root retting and rotting occurs, and the aboveground part begins to turn yellow.

3. After the occurrence of cold injury or frost injury after planting, the leaf color was dark green, the leaf margin was slightly curled, and yellow-white spots appeared between the veins of large leaves. Or the plant roots slowly, or no roots, or flower buds are not differentiated, the whole plant grows thin, flowers top, and even the leaves die until the whole plant dies.

Prevention and cure method

The main results are as follows: 1. Select the low temperature tolerant varieties with fast germination, rapid emergence and fast seedling growth.

2. The seeds that germinate quickly after soaking are put into 0 ℃ freezing for 24 hours and then sown, which can enhance the cold resistance.

3. Avoid raising seedlings and planting in cold period. Heating measures such as lighting a stove in the shed or the Quiga hotline.

4. Compost or fully mature organic fertilizer retted by enzyme bacteria.

5. Spray plant anti-cold agents before the cold spell, spray 100,200ml per mu of Baolifeng antifreeze 400x liquid or 3.4% Biwei wettable powder 7500 times or brown sugar 50g with water plus 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate per mu.

6. If the temperature is too low and frost damage has occurred, slow warming measures should be adopted, such as shading the light with grass curtains after a long overcast and sunny day, so that the physiological function of cucumbers can be slowly restored. Do not act too hastily.
