Motherwort is an annual herb of the lip-shaped family Leonurus. It is an important medicine for doctors of previous dynasties to treat gynecological diseases. It has the effects of promoting blood circulation, dispelling silt, regulating menstruation and eliminating water. It is divided into precocious motherwort and winter motherwort. Seed reproduction is generally used and cultivation value is higher. Let's take a look at motherwort planting techniques.

Planting conditions of motherwort

Motherwort like warm and humid climate, like the sun, the soil requirements are not strict, the general soil and barren mountain slopes can be planted, with more fertile soil is better, need sufficient water conditions, but should not be stagnant water, afraid of waterlogging. Grow in a variety of environments, up to 3400 meters above sea level, distributed in wild wasteland, roadside, ridge, hillside grassland, riverside and other places, mainly in the sunny place.

Propagation technique of motherwort

1. Seed treatment: before sowing, motherwort seeds were mixed with fire ash or fine soil fertilizer, and then mixed with human and animal feces and urine and new high-fat film to ward off underground diseases and insects, isolate virus infection, strengthen respiratory intensity and improve seed germination rate. Choose seeds that are fresh in that year and have a germination rate of more than 80%. Burrowing sowers prepare 400 grams per mu, while strip sowers prepare 500 grams per mu.

2. Sowing time: precocious motherwort can be sowed in autumn, spring or summer, and winter motherwort must be sowed in autumn. It is appropriate to sow in spring from Rain Water to sting, and summer sowing is used in the north to make use of summer leisure land. Autumn sowing is mostly adopted in low temperature areas, and the soil is the best when the soil is moist from the Autumn Equinox to Cold Dew.

3. Sowing methods: the sowing and propagation methods of motherwort include strip sowing, hole sowing and sowing. Strip sowing is mostly used in plain areas, hole sowing is often used in sloping land, and sowing management is not convenient and not adopted. Before sowing, mix the seeds with fire ash or fine soil fertilizer, which can not only ensure growth and nutrition, but also prevent insect pests.

Planting technique of motherwort

1. Replenishing seedlings: the height of motherwort seedlings is about 5 cm, and then it is carried out for 2 or 3 times, and when the seedling height is 15 cm, the seedlings are fixed. The seeder took the wrong plant to keep the seedling, the distance between the plant was about 10 cm, and the hole seeder left 2-3 seedlings per hole. When it is found that there is a lack of seedlings, it should be transplanted and replanted in time.

2. Intermediate ploughing and weeding: spring sowing requires ploughing and weeding for 3 times, when the seedling height is about 5 cm, 15 cm and 30 cm, respectively. Summer sowing is carried out timely according to plant growth. The method of autumn sowing is the same as that of spring sowing when the seedlings grow 3 or 4 true leaves for the first time, and then three times in the following year. When ploughing and weeding, ploughing should not be too deep, so as not to hurt the roots. In the seedling stage, ploughing should protect the seedlings, prevent them from being oppressed by clods, and do not touch the stems of the seedlings. After the last ploughing, cultivate the soil to protect the roots.

3. Reasonable topdressing: motherwort should be topdressing once every time after ploughing and weeding, it is better to apply nitrogen fertilizer, urea, ammonium sulfate, cake fertilizer or human and animal manure can be used. Attention should be paid to watering when topdressing, and the fertilizer should not be too thick so as not to hurt the seedlings. Especially in the application of cake fertilizer, it is emphasized that after it is broken, it should be thoroughly cooked with water and diluted with water before application. When Rain Water is concentrated in the rainy season, to prevent stagnant water, we should pay attention to timely drainage.

4. Pest control: motherwort disease has powdery mildew. 1000-fold solution of 25% rust powder is used to control before and after the disease. Sclerotinia sclerotiorum can be sprayed with Rhizoctonia solani 500 or 300 times Bordeaux or 40% Sclerotinia sclerotiorum 500 times, as well as mosaic disease. Insect pests are aphids, which occur in spring and autumn, and should be controlled with evaluation preparation. Small tigers are caught and killed in the morning or trapped by heaps of grass.
