(Taiwan Business News) The North Coast and Guanyin Mountain National Scenic Area Management Office of the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Communications and Taipei City Wild Bird Society held the "2014 Guanyin Eagle Watching" activity at the Guanyin Mountain Visitor Center on the 19th. At the same time, they also released the "Guanyin Eagle Watching-Guanyin Mountain Raptor Identification Manual." Many participants took advantage of the weekend to go to the mountains to watch eagles and were very happy to see raptors flying in the sky.

An ecological commentator from the Wild Bird Society of Taipei City says that every spring migrating raptors return north to their breeding grounds. Kuanyin Mountain, located on the Tamsui River side, is the last stop on their migration route. From mid April to early May, there is a chance to see raptors at Kuanyin Mountain. Chen Meixiu, director of the North View Office of the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Communications, said that since 2002, the "Guanyin·Eagle Watching" activity has been held every year in the middle and late April at the Guanyin Mountain Visitor Center. Just like the agreement with old friends, we always meet before the end of spring every year. Therefore, there has always been a saying of "North Guanyin·Middle Bagua·South Kenting". At the same time, we hope that through the eagle watching activity, more people can understand the rich ecological environment of Guanyin Mountain.

On the 19th, there were not only guides stationed at the station to explain the ecology of birds of prey, but also activities such as DIY of bird hats, guided tour of local history of Guanyin Mountain, lectures on raptor ecology, farmers 'market, etc. Although the sky was cloudy and sunny from time to time, 10 kinds of raptors including grey-faced eagle, red-bellied eagle, northern sparrow eagle and pine sparrow eagle were still observed, making the sky of Guanyin Mountain quite lively.
