Radix Paeoniae Alba is the dry root of Paeonia lactiflora, also known as Paeonia lactiflora, which has the function of nourishing blood and softening the liver and relieving pain. Mainly produced in Zhejiang and Anhui. Sichuan, Guizhou, Shandong and other provinces, the following Guizhou Agricultural Network editor to introduce the planting technology of Paeonia lactiflora!

Land selection and preparation

The land planted with Paeonia lactiflora can only be turned over after 3-4 years of paeony harvest. Therefore, the soil preparation must be carefully cultivated before planting. After the previous harvest, when the feet are not sticky on a sunny day, turn the soil 30-40 cm deep, plough the soil fine and level it, and apply 60kg of organic fertilizer and ternary compound fertilizer.

Planting technology

Before planting, the roots of peony buds should be divided into two categories according to their size, and they should be planted separately for future management. Large planting, good management, can be harvested one year earlier, planting time is generally around Cold Dew, the earlier the better, the latest can not exceed Frosts Descent, if too late, on the one hand, because the stored peony buds have new roots, easy to break when planting; on the other hand, the temperature is getting lower and lower after planting, which affects the sprouting and growth of the next year. When planting holes, the row spacing is 40-45 cm, the plant spacing is about 30 cm, and the hole depth is 16-20 cm. 3500-4000 plants can be planted per mu. After opening the hole, 1-2 buds are planted in each hole, leaving 2-3 main roots, and the roots should be bifurcated and oblique, buds upward, covering soil and border flat, it is appropriate to use buds about 5 cm underground, soil covering operation should be meticulous, soil should be fine, and soil should not be covered with soil clods. The bud head covered by soil can not be closely combined with the soil, the ventilation is strong, and the bud head is vulnerable to drought and freezing damage, which will delay germination or even not germination.

Field management

1. Ploughing and weeding: Paeonia lactiflora is most afraid of grass famine, especially in the second year after planting, due to wide row spacing, not many seedlings from each plant, weeds are easy to breed, if weeds are not weeded in time, it will hinder the growth of peony. Therefore, when the seedlings sprouted and unearthed after planting, they should be ploughed and weeded, and then carried out about once a month to meet the requirements of loose soil and no grass. Each time, only 3-5 cm of topsoil can be loosened so as not to hurt the roots, and be careful not to break the buds. If they are broken, they will no longer germinate and affect their growth. For large-scale planting, it is recommended to use herbicides.

2. Topdressing: after peony is planted in that year, there is no need to topdressing. Topdressing 4 times in the second year and the third year. After the first ploughing and weeding in March, the second and third times were from May to July, and every four times from November to December. In the spring of the fourth year, topdressing can be applied 1-2 times according to the growth of peony, and each topdressing should be applied in a hole or ring-shaped shallow ditch next to the plant, and the soil should be covered after application to avoid fertilizer loss. It is suggested that the amount of topdressing is 15ml 20kg of ternary compound fertilizer and bio-organic fertilizer.

3. Irrigation and drainage: peony is more resistant to drought, but if it is too dry for a long time, it is disadvantageous to growth, so it still needs irrigation during drought, and peony is afraid of stagnant water, which often causes diseases due to stagnant water, so more attention should be paid to drainage.

4. Picking buds: when the buds appear in the middle of April, pick all the buds on a sunny day in order to concentrate nutrients, promote root growth, and improve yield and quality. It is not too late to pick buds.

5. Intercropping: within 1-2 years after planting, the plant grows slowly and grows small. in order to make full use of the land, it can be intercropped with vegetables, legumes and sesame crops.

Disease prevention and cure

1. Peony rust

It is a disease with great threat in the production of Radix Paeoniae Alba. It occurs after flowering in early May and is serious from July to August until the ground part dies, sometimes sunny and sometimes rainy, warm and humid or low-lying prone to stagnant water.

[control methods] when the peony was harvested, the residual branches and diseased leaves were cleaned up and burned so as to reduce the source of overwintering bacteria. Select the land with high dryness and good drainage for high border planting. Drug control can use triadimefon, agricultural anti-120 and so on.

2. Grey mold

The pathogen overwintered mainly by sclerotia in the soil with diseased leaves, and the disease occurred after flowering in May, which was more serious from June to July, and had been endangering the aboveground parts until they died. In the case of continuous rain or heavy dew, it is easy to get sick.

[control methods] rotation should be carried out in peony fields, disease-free buds should be selected for planting, drainage should be carried out in time after rain, ventilation and transmittance in the field should be enhanced at ordinary times, and polyantimycin, isobarbazide and Sukeling can be selected for chemical control.

3. Root rot

It is mainly harmful to the roots of Paeonia lactiflora, and half of the roots of the damaged plants often appear watery rot.

[control methods] when soaking seeds with carbendazim, attention should be paid to trenching and drainage so as to reduce the humidity in the field. Drug control can choose chlorpromazil, thiram and so on.

Pest control

1. Grub

The damage is serious from May to September. The larvae feed on the root of Radix Paeoniae Alba, which makes the root surface of Paeonia lactiflora form many spots and holes, affecting the yield and quality.

[control method] use phoxim or Lesbon to irrigate.

2. Small land tiger: the harm is usually serious from April to May.

Harvest and processing

Paeonia lactiflora was put into medicine by root, cultivated with seeds for 4-5 years, harvested in 3-4 years planted with peony head, harvested in September, removed rhizome and whisker root, washed, scraped off rough skin, boiled slightly in boiling water, softened peony root, fished out and dried, generally yielded 250 kg dry product per mu.
