Cost and profit of laying hens
Breeding cycle of laying hens
The breeding cycle of laying hens (from the newly hatched chickens to the final elimination and sale) is generally 17 months, which is divided into two stages: the first stage is the growing period, that is, from the newly hatched chicks to the beginning of laying eggs, usually from 0 to May, a total of 5 months; the latter stage is the laying period, that is, from the beginning of laying to the final phase of elimination and sale, generally 5 ~ 17 months, a total of 12 months.
Laying hen breeding cost budget
The breeding cost of laying hens generally includes the following aspects:
1. Chickens: according to the survey, the price of chickens in the city is about 3 yuan per chicken recently.
2. Feed (feed cost = feed consumption × feed price): ① consumption: brooding period (0muri-February), feed consumption is about 3.7jin. During the growing period (March to May), the average daily feed consumption of each chicken is about 0.17 jin. It is estimated that the monthly feed consumption of each chicken is about 0.17 × 30 kg 5.1 jin, and the feed consumption of each chicken during the growing period (3 months) is about 5.1 × 3 kg 15.3 jin. During the laying period (May ~ 17 months), the average daily feed consumption of each chicken is about 0.27 jin. It is inferred that the monthly feed consumption of each chicken is about 0.27 × 30 kg 8.1 jin, and that of each chicken during the laying period (12 months) is about 8.1 × 12 kg 97.2 jin. The total amount of feed consumed during the growing period and egg laying was about 3.7 kg 15.3 jin and 97.2 jin. ② feed price: the price of feed directly purchased by farmers from manufacturers is generally about 1.18yuan / jin, and the price of feed prepared by some farmers is generally about 1.13yuan / jin. From this, it is estimated that the cost of buying feed is 116.2 × 1.18mm 137.116 yuan. The cost of self-made feed is 116.2 × 1.13131.306 yuan.
3. Epidemic prevention fee: ① growth period (0 ~ May): in the absence of a major epidemic, the epidemic prevention cost per chicken during the 5-month growth period is generally about 2 yuan per chicken. ② laying period (May ~ 17 months): in the absence of a major epidemic, the epidemic prevention cost per chicken during the 12-month growing period is generally about 1.50 yuan per chicken. Therefore, the total cost of epidemic prevention per chicken in one breeding cycle is about 21.5 and 3.5 yuan per chicken.
4. Water and electricity charges: as the collection methods of water and electricity charges vary from county to county in the city, and at the same time, many farmers have their own wells at home, there is a great difference in water and electricity charges, with an average of about 0.5 yuan per chicken for a breeding cycle (17 months).
5. Total cost (excluding labor cost): on the premise of excluding labor cost, the total cost of laying hen breeding = chicken + feed + epidemic prevention fee + water and electricity fee. According to the purchase cost of feed: the total cost = 3137.1163.50.5144.116 yuan. According to the cost of self-made feed: the total cost = 3131.3063.50.5138.306 yuan.
Analysis on the profit of layer breeding
1. Egg income (egg price × egg production): on average, each laying hen lays about 300 eggs in one breeding cycle (17 months), while the average egg production is about 8 eggs per kilogram, so the egg production of one laying hen in one breeding cycle is about 300 / 8 / 37.5 jin.
2. Elimination of chicken income: laying hens are generally eliminated and sold after 17 months, that is, one year after laying. In May this year, the price of eliminated chicken feather weight was 3.7 yuan / jin ~ 4.5 yuan / jin, with an average of 4.6 yuan / jin. The average gross weight of eliminated chicken was about 4.2 jin, and the average selling price of eliminated chicken was 4.6 × 4.2 yuan 19.32 yuan.
3. Income from chicken manure: in recent years, due to the heavy application of chemical fertilizers, the consolidation of land has been serious. Many farmers have turned to farm manure, and the price of chicken manure has also gone up. The price of chicken manure is between 40,80yuan per cubic meter, with an average of 60 yuan. On average, every 300 chickens produce 1 cubic meter of chicken manure per month, that is, each chicken produces about 1 million cubic meters of manure per month, then a chicken breeding cycle (17 months) produces about 17 × 1 pound 300 cubic meters of manure. According to the calculation of 60 yuan per cubic meter, the chicken manure income of each chicken in one breeding cycle is 17300 × 603.4 yuan.
4. Total income: total income = egg income + elimination chicken income + chicken manure income. So, egg income = total income-elimination chicken income-chicken manure income.
Calculation of break-even point of egg price
In break-even, total cost (excluding labor cost) = total income, then egg income at break-even point = egg break-even point price × egg production = total income-elimination chicken income-chicken manure income. Therefore, the break-even point price of eggs = (total income-elimination chicken income-chicken manure income) / egg production = (total cost-elimination chicken income-chicken manure income) / egg production.
1. According to the cost of purchasing feed, the break-even point price of eggs = (144.116, 19.32, 3.4) / 37.5, 3.237 yuan / jin.
2. According to the cost of self-made feed, the break-even point price of eggs = (138.306, 19.32, 3.4) / 37.5, 3.082 yuan / jin.
According to the above analysis, when farmers buy feed, the break-even point of egg price is 3.237 yuan / jin. When self-made feed, the break-even point of egg price is 3.082 / Jack yuan.
Calculation of breeding profit of laying hen farmers
Now take a farmer purchasing feed to raise 10,000 chickens as an example to calculate the income of the farmer in one year. Because it is the purchase of feed, so the break-even point of egg price is 3.237 yuan / jin. Assuming that the egg price is 0.1 yuan higher than the break-even point, that is, when the egg price is 3.337 yuan per jin, then:
The main results are as follows: 1. The income of one laying hen in one breeding cycle (17 months) is 37.5 × 0.1 million 3.75 yuan (the average egg production in one breeding cycle is 37.5 jin).
2. The income of a laying hen in one year (12 months) is 3.75 × 12 inch 2.647 yuan.
3. The income of 10, 000 laying hens in a year (12 months) is 2.647 × 10 000 yuan.
It can be seen that when the egg price is 0.1 yuan / jin higher than the break-even point, the farmers with 10, 000 eggs can get an income of 26470 yuan a year; on the contrary, if the egg price is 0.1 yuan / jin lower than the break-even point, the farmer will lose 26470 yuan.
Finally, it should be noted that the break-even point of egg price is not constant, it will be adjusted accordingly with the passage of time, the change of location, and the increase or decrease of various breeding costs and benefits in the market.
