Chunghwa Telecom ShowTaiwan "3D Cloud Plan"
(Taiwan Business News) Chunghwa Telecom ShowTaiwan provides the largest 3D mapping service in Taiwan. In 2014, Chunghwa Telecom will expand the "3D Cloud Project" with points, lines and surfaces, support the domestic 3D industry, vertically integrate the academic community and the industry in the form of industry-university cooperation, and actively cultivate talents in the 3D digital content industry.
The "3D Cloud Project" uses three stages of "point, line and surface" to build a 3D cloud tour platform. in the first stage, the whole campus is taken as the "point", and the foundation is rooted and nurtured to build 3D campuses. at present, 30 campuses are open for online browsing (http://showtaiwan.hinet.net)). In the second stage, the campus life circle is expanded into a "line", adding domestic 3D achievements, such as national scenic spots, religious buildings, townships, outer islands, etc., to achieve the 3D transformation of the whole "noodle" county and city life circle, and the integration results attract more resources to join, so that the industry can develop more vigorously. The third phase is to introduce Chunghwa Telecom ICT services, such as indoor landscape service, iEN intelligent energy-saving service, and clairvoyance cloud monitoring, to create a new value-added application service to make the 3D cloud guide platform more complete.
Chunghwa Telecom ShowTaiwan has been running professional modeling courses with Taiwan's colleges and universities for three years, successfully cultivating hundreds of model design talents, and the cooperation results are displayed in the ShowTaiwan3D campus area. This year, the "3D Cloud Project" is officially launched, focusing on training model designers to build 3D campuses. Free courses will be offered at Chunghwa Telecom North, Middle and South Colleges, where professional lecturers will teach modeling technology, which can be used in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), 3D games, industrial design, building information models (BIM), 3D printing and so on.
The 3D Cloud Project aims to build 100 3D campuses in 2015 and is expected to complete all Taiwan's colleges and universities in 2017. For more information, please visit http://showtaiwan.hinet.net/ent/.
