Chickens are the most common poultry raised by human beings. The origin of domestic chicken comes from wild original chicken, and its domestication history is at least about 4000 years, but chicken meat and eggs did not become a mass-produced commodity until around 1800. the types of chickens include turkey, black chicken, pheasant and so on. according to the different functions, they can be divided into three breeds: egg type, meat type and dual-purpose type.

Egg type variety

Egg-type chickens are smaller in size, longer in waist, warped in tail feathers, and well-developed in crown and droop. The physique is meticulous, compact, lively, flexible and mature early, and begins to lay eggs 5-6 months after birth. The number of eggs is high, and the hen does not hold the nest.

Meat type variety

The breed of meat type chicken is large in size, short in waist and less developed in crown than egg type chicken. The chest is wide and deep, the legs are full of muscles and produce a lot of meat. Chicken Xiu is bulky, does not like activities, is docile and easy to manage. Hens like to hug their nests, but because of their large size and easy to trample on breeding eggs, this kind of hens are generally not used to hatch chickens. Meat breeds can be divided into two types: special broilers and general meat breeds. Broilers are characterized by rapid growth and development in the early stage, which can grow to more than 1.25kg and 1.5kg at 56-70 days after birth, such as Cornish and Bailock. General meat chickens, such as nine jin yellow chicken and wolf pheasant, mainly refer to adult chickens producing more meat.

Dual-purpose breed chicken

The characteristic of dual-purpose chicken is that the egg production and meat production are between the egg type and the meat type.
