The preparation of chicks before brooding is a key measure directly related to the growth and development of chicks, improving various physiological systems and ensuring the performance of production in the future. Therefore, the more meticulous the preparation of breeder chickens before raising chicks, the better.

Cleaning and disinfection of chicken coop

1. Cleaning: after all the old chickens are eliminated or the chicks are transferred out, the movable utensils should be moved out in time, and then washed and disinfected to avoid the spread of the disease. First of all, we need to clear out the chicken droppings, and then clean the roof, chicken cages, drinking water and ventilation equipment, the ground, etc., and then rinse with a high-pressure gun to achieve a comprehensive and thorough, so that there are no chicken feathers, no chicken dung, no dust, and so on.

2. Drying: after washing, the doors, windows and vents should be opened to allow the henhouse to be ventilated and dried, so that the water will evaporate and be kept for 3-5 days, otherwise the residual water droplets will reduce the concentration of the disinfectant and affect the disinfection effect.

3. Disinfection of chicken house: after drying, select certain disinfectants and prepare a certain proportion of water agent for spraying disinfection. Disinfectants can choose caustic soda, quicklime, Baidu, Baodian and so on. If it is caged, disinfectants had better not use caustic soda and other corrosive drugs, so as not to damage the cage. Spray disinfection must be carried out from top to bottom, in the order of roof, wall, cage and floor, from one end of the henhouse to the other. Disinfection personnel must wear leather gloves and masks to avoid skin damage caused by caustic soda water.

4. Disinfection of utensils: generally, soaking and disinfecting the material buckets, buckets or sinks that will be used in flat breeding, and soaking and disinfecting the kettles, food plates and drinking fountains that are about to be used in cage culture. When soaking and disinfecting, you can put these utensils to be used in containers, then add prepared disinfectant water, until all the utensils are submerged, and after soaking for half a day, you can take out the utensils to dry and move them into the chicken coop for standby.

5. Fumigation and disinfection: put all kinds of utensils that need to be used neatly in the chicken house, close all doors, windows and vents, and then place a heat source in the four corners and center of the chicken house, plus a certain amount of powdered methyl vinegar and potassium permanganate. Volatilize rapidly under the action of heat source. On the second day, open the doors and windows for ventilation and clean up the fumigation. In order to achieve a good disinfection effect, fumigation for 2 times is appropriate, and the interval is generally 7-10 days.

Maintenance of buildings and equipment

15 days before entering the chicken, repair the chicken coop to ensure the safety of the chicken. The repair of the house should ensure that it is well insulated and ventilated, not leaking rain or damp. The maintenance of equipment includes cage, waterline, material trough, lighting electricity, ventilation equipment (fan), heating equipment (insulation umbrella) and so on.

Selected breeders

Train the breeders regularly. Breeders must have a sense of responsibility, be able to bear hardships and stand hard work, and be able to deal with general technical problems in the production process in time.

Get ready for brooding.

Bedding materials should be prepared in flat farming, cushion nets should be prepared in cages, enough heating fuel should be prepared, food plates and drinking fountains should be opened, etc. In addition, breeders have to prepare daily necessities.

Prepare feed and other nutritional supplements

Feed preparation should not be too much, so as to avoid the loss of nutrients in the feed, generally prepare the dosage for 3 days. It should be used now in the rainy season, and the finished feed should be used up in 7 days and should not be stored for a long time. At the same time, it is necessary to do a good job in the preservation of feed to prevent pollution such as rats and to prevent deterioration. In addition, prepare the necessary nutritional supplements, including glucose, multivitamins, minerals and amino acids.

Draw up a vaccine plan and purchase enough vaccine for use

The vaccine plan depends on the specific conditions of different breeds of chickens. When buying, you should carefully choose the manufacturer and the production date.

The preheating of the chicken coop

In the first 2 days of brooding, we should use the heating equipment to preheat the temperature in the henhouse, which is generally required to be about 33-34 ℃. In the hot summer, there is no need to preheat in advance. In addition, prepare enough lukewarm water so that the chicks can drink when they enter the house. The temperature of warm boiled water in winter is generally 20-25 ℃.
