Listen to the sound

When touching a chicken, it is restless and makes a "squeak" cry for non-laying hens; those who tighten their wings, squat in the cage and make a "cackle" sound are laying hens.

Look at the shape

Non-laying hens are more sensitive and frightened, with neat and smooth feathers, slow movement, shrunken and pale crown, while laying hens have a docile temperament, untidy coat and poor glossiness, but their crowns and meat beards are large and bright red, lively and bright.

Look at the feces.

The feces of non-laying hens are dry and mostly green, while the feces of laying hens are full and wet, with a layer of white mucus on it.

Look at the head and feet

The beak, eye circles and toe skin of non-laying hens are yellow, while laying hens are whiter.

Look at the anus.

The anus of non-laying hens is dry and tight, round and yellow, while the anus of laying hens is white, moist, large and oval.
