Efficient Culture technique of Caragana Caragana
Red-bellied golden pheasant is a world-famous ornamental rare bird, commonly known as golden pheasant. In recent years, farming has only begun to develop. Experts proposed that the red-bellied golden pheasant be designated as the national bird. Sun Yuehua, vice president of the Ornithology Branch of the Chinese Zoological Society, revealed at the launch ceremony of the "Birds of China" stamp held on March 3, 2008 that the red-bellied golden pheasant, as a rare special bird in China, is expected to be elected as the national bird. "More than 40 countries and regions have identified their national birds. As a world power, China should decide on its own national bird as soon as possible." The breeding techniques are described as follows:
biological characteristics
The distribution of golden pheasant is limited to the central and central western regions of China. Wild golden pheasant has forest habitat, living in evergreen broad-leaved forest or shrub bamboo forest at an altitude of several hundred meters to 4000 meters. Food is mainly plant food. Such as grass seeds, ferns, shrubs buds, flowers and berries, like to eat wild cherries, horse ferns, raspberries and so on. During the breeding season, they like to feed on insect larvae and sometimes on crops. Usually alone or in pairs, winter often 10~20 activities in groups, except hatching and brooding female chickens, golden pheasants at night are perched in trees.
breeding cage
The form of cage can be determined according to the specific situation, the more commonly used are double row and single row cage. Single row cages are suitable for medium and small scale feeding, and double row cages are suitable for large scale feeding. No matter what kind of cage, its width should be less than the length, and the aspect ratio is preferably 5:1 or 4:1. This form of cage allows the chickens to have a longer movement distance. The cage for raising a pair of golden pheasants or a male and several females should be 8~10 square meters in area and 2 meters in height. Each cage consists of a roost and a sports ground. The roost area is 1~2 square meters. It is located at one end of the cage for roosting at night and shelter from wind and rain. The rest of the cage is a playground where golden pheasants feed and play.
Breeding and Incubation
1. Breeding: 1-year-old golden pheasant has mating behavior and reproductive ability, and April to July is the breeding season every year. When artificial breeding golden pheasant, breeding cock should choose about 2 years old, colorful feathers, frequent chirping individuals; hen can be bred after 1 year old, should choose normal development of the individual as breeding hen, generally a cock with 2~3 hens. During the breeding season, golden pheasants lay 5 - 9 eggs per nest, and then nest and hatch by themselves. Laying eggs 1~2 litters per year, artificial breeding conditions can be good eggs.
2. Incubation: The incubation period of golden pheasant is 22~24 days. Incubation can be done with chickens or electric heat incubator incubation. Each chicken hatches 15 to 20 eggs, not too many. Clean the sterilized eggs with a clean cloth and incubate them. After incubation, check the eggs once every 5~7 days to pick out unfertilized eggs; the second time to pick out dead eggs at 14 days of incubation; after incubation to 21~22 days, the eggs can be bathed once in warm water at 40℃. When eggs are put into water, the eggs that swing left and right are well-developed embryos, and the dead embryos will not swing. When using electric incubator incubation, the temperature should be controlled at 38℃~38.5℃, humidity should be maintained at 65%~ 70%, too high temperature and too low humidity are unfavorable for incubation.
Feeding and management
1. Raising of brooding chickens: fine sand or short straw and straw should be laid outside the brooding room. Chickens moved into the brooding room before, brooding outdoor and appliances should be disinfected. Brood room sprayed with 0.5% Bromogeramine solution, feeding tools and utensils with 0.5% potassium permanganate solution soak, wash. When the brooding room is moved into multiple broods of brooding chickens at the same time, the brooding room can be divided into several rooms with cardboard, and each brood can be placed. The brooding chickens hatched by the machine and the hens cannot be mixed, otherwise, the brooding chickens can recognize the chicks that are not hatched by themselves. Chickens hatched in electric heat incubators or chicks collected in the wild need to be raised in artificial brooders. Bottom of the shop sand or short grass, and placed trough and sink. 1~2 thermometers are installed on the wall of the box, and a small piece of glass is installed at the top as an observation window. Chickens 1~3 days old, room temperature 32℃;4~7 days old 30℃;8~12 days old 28℃;13~20 days old 25℃;20 days old, can be raised under normal room temperature conditions. Brooding chicken feed, the first few days with cooked egg yolk and bread worms, feeding 5 to 6 times a day, each feeding should not be too much. After 3 days of age, oxytetracycline 5%~10% glucose solution can be added to prevent infection of intestinal diseases; after 7 days of age, it can be fed according to the proportion of commercial chicken feed 40%, cooked egg yolk 25%, bread worm 25%, green feed 10%; after 30~60 days of age, it can be fed according to the proportion of commercial chicken feed 50%, cooked egg yolk 10%, bread worm 10%, peanut powder and soybean powder 5%, green feed 20%; After 60 days of age, chickens were fed as young chickens.
2. Feeding of golden pheasant in breeding stage: golden pheasant after 60 days old, feather color similar to adult female chicken, only slightly smaller, adaptability to climate change and resistance to diseases significantly enhanced than chicks, at this time should be transferred to cage feeding. The suitable feeding density was 2~3 birds per square meter. Perch, sink and trough can be added appropriately in the cage to ensure that each chicken can eat and drink. The feed of young golden pheasant is mainly commercial chicken feed, and appropriate amount of ground peanut, bread worm and green feed are fed. Concentrate should be gradually reduced when changing from chick feed to young chicken feed. One-year-old male golden pheasant can be fed exclusively on commercial chicken feed. One year old female golden pheasant has reproductive ability, at this time it is best to isolate male and female breeding. At 90 days of age, the feathers of the cock have changed, and the occipital part grows feathers, which are easily distinguished from the female bird.
3. Feeding and management of breeding chickens: The feed for breeding chickens is mainly commercial breeding feed, but in the early breeding stage and breeding period, more oily feed and animal food should be given, such as peanuts, sunflower seeds, bread worms, locusts, etc., special attention should be paid to the supply of sufficient green feed. During breeding season, nest boxes are placed in cages or artificial nests are set up in cage houses. Egg laying conditions are checked every evening and eggs found should be removed in time.
