Many flower friends raise orchids and always don't understand how to fertilize orchids is the right way. Because many flower friends do not grasp the "law" of orchid fertilization, orchids not only have low flowering quality, but also cause fat injuries, yellow leaves or rotten roots of orchids. Therefore, let's introduce the law of orchid fertilization to flower friends.

1. Fertilization period

The main results are as follows: (1) depending on the cultivation substrate used, the granular hard substrate has the advantages of aeration and hydrophobicity, which is beneficial to the growth and development of roots. However, the nutrient elements contained in it are lack or not comprehensive enough, and the hard matrix is granular, the gap is large, and the fertility is poor. Therefore, it is necessary to use the common organic nutrient solution of orchids to irrigate the roots 500 times with water every 7 days or so.

(2) fertilization should be carried out according to the growth status: those with luxuriant growth and no disease can be fertilized; those with light green and soft leaves due to lack of fertilizer should be fertilized; weak seedlings with poor growth and disease should not be fertilized or reduced, and must not be applied more; orchids should be cultivated for one year, do not apply fertilizer until the new roots are normal; newly planted orchids do not apply root fertilizer (within half a year) Due to excessive fertilization, those with dark green leaves and black spots and scorched leaf tips stop fertilization; they do not apply fertilizer during flowering; after anthesis, they should apply post-anthesis fertilizer at the end of semi-dormancy (about 5 days), and generally do not apply fertilizer during winter dormancy.

2. Selection of fertilizers

If flower friends want to promote leaf bud growth, mainly nitrogen fertilizer; promote root development, germination and development, mainly phosphate fertilizer; maintain plant health, improve disease resistance, mainly potassium fertilizer. Therefore, the proportion of various elements should be adjusted according to the growth and development of orchids.

The vegetative growth period is before the emergence of new buds to semi-maturity, so more nitrogen fertilizer (N-P-K ratio 2:2:1) should be applied, and more P-K fertilizer (N-P-K ratio 1:4:3) should be applied to promote flowering or new bud germination. The organic liquid fertilizer and potassium dihydrogen phosphate of orchid were sprayed during the period of leaf bud growth, and potassium dihydrogen phosphate or calcium superphosphate was sprayed from plant maturity to bud formation.

3. Fertilization time

When the temperature is as high as 32 ℃, the orchid stops growing, and fertilization is harmful rather than beneficial; on cloudy and rainy days, the air humidity is so high that it is difficult for the water to evaporate, and it is difficult for the orchid root to absorb fertilizer. Therefore, in the cold winter and hot summer weather and noon fertilization must be paid attention to, if there is no warm and cooling facilities, the temperature is higher or lower than the suitable temperature can not be fertilized. Fertilization is best carried out after 5 o'clock in the afternoon, and the next morning should be watered once (if the real leaf surface is sprayed with fertilizer, the leaf surface should be sprayed with clean water the next day).
