Wild duck is a typical representative of waterfowl. In a narrow sense, wild duck refers to mallard duck, which is also the most common large wild duck and the ancestor of all domestic ducks except Muscovy duck. It is the main object of artificial domestication at present. There are many kinds of wild ducks, and there are about 10 species in China, each of which is quite different from the feathers of male ducks. at present, the main breeds of wild ducks raised at home and abroad are mallard ducks.

Mallard duck

Mallard ducks are the most common large wild ducks. The domesticated mallard duck has the advantages of strong disease resistance, high survival rate, wide adaptability, good gregariousness, diverse feeding habits, easy feeding, low feed consumption and short feeding cycle. The farmed green-headed duck is fat but not greasy, with fresh and tender meat, rich nutrition and rich game. It has always been regarded as the top grade of game and enjoys a good reputation at home and abroad.

Needle-tailed duck

The head is dark brown, the side of the neck is bright white with the lower body, the wing mirror is dark copper green, and the central tail feather is extended.

Green winged duck

The body is small, the wing mirror is metal green, the head is deep chestnut, and there are green spots on both sides.

Flower-faced duck

The neck and tail are covered with down black, brown and white on both sides of the face, with black stripes at present and neck base, and winged mirror copper green.

Rib duck

The top of the head is chestnut, the crown feathers on the side and back of the head are copper green, the throat is pure white, the front neck has a black collar, and the body feathers are gray.

Spotted duck

Feather brown, upper mouth black, with macula at the end, wing mirror purple and blue.

Bare-shouldered duck

The upper body is dark grayish brown, mixed with wavy white lines, chest brown, crescent white lines, gray and white abdomen, black and white wing mirror.

Red-necked duck

The top of the head is brown and white, the head and neck are mostly chestnut red, the back is gray and dark, and the wing mirror is dark grayish brown.

White eyebrow duck

Head and throat black and brown, with white eyebrow lines, pterygoid mirror gray-green.

Piper billed duck

The front end of the mouth expands into a shovel shape, head and neck black and purple, chest white, pterygoid green, belly red and brown.
