Factors Affecting Laying of Laying Duck
From the beginning of sexual maturity, male and female ducks enter a new stage, in which male ducks have to mate, females have to lay eggs and breed, and the growth and development of all parts of the body has basically ended, and all its activities revolve around the center of "reproduction." all feeding and management work should also serve this center and do everything possible to create an environment and conditions for continuous high and stable production to obtain high-quality breeding eggs.
Variety factor
Variety is a prerequisite for high yield. the laying rate, the length of laying cycle, the persistence of egg production and the size of eggs are all closely related to the variety. If a good breed can be selected for breeding, the egg production can be increased by several percent, or even multiplied, and the economic benefit will also be improved. How to select high-yield varieties suitable for local breeding according to their own feeding conditions and management techniques is the key factor for the success or failure of culture.
Nutritional factors
After entering the laying period, the demand for nutrients in laying ducks is higher than at any previous stage, in addition to the nutrients necessary to maintain life activities, but also a large number of nutrients necessary for laying eggs. Nutrients such as energy, protein and calcium must be fully supplied. Otherwise, the laying rate will be affected.
In order to achieve the level of sustained high yield, in addition to the variety is a congenital factor, whether the nutrients in the diet are comprehensive and balanced, and whether the quantity can meet the needs is a necessary condition to maintain high and stable yield.
Environmental factors
The environmental factors are complex, and the factors that have the greatest influence on egg production are light and temperature.
1. Lighting
For laying ducks, the duration of light also has a lot to do with egg production. The main function of light is to promote the mature ovulation of follicles. Therefore, during the breeding period, the purpose of controlling the light time is to prevent young ducks from being too precocious; when they are about to enter the laying period, it is necessary to gradually increase the light time and increase the light intensity, so as to promote the development of ovaries and start laying at the right time. After entering the peak period of egg production, it is necessary to stabilize the light system (light time and light intensity) in order to maintain continuous high yield. The light intensity during the laying period should be 5: 8 lux, such as the bulb height is 2 meters above the ground, generally, each square meter duck house is calculated according to 1.3 ~ 1.5 watts, and about 18 square meters duck house is equipped with a 25w light bulb. Light bulbs of more than 60W are usually not used in practical use, because the light distribution of large bulbs is uneven and electricity is wasted. Fluorescent lamps are greatly affected by temperature and are generally not used. The light bulb must be shaded so that the light shines on the duck, not on the ceiling. There is a lot of dust in the duck house, and the light bulb should be wiped frequently to keep it clean so as not to cover it with dust and affect the brightness.
The lighting effect usually takes 7 to 10 days to show, so during the laying period, you can't suddenly increase the light hours or increase the light intensity because you can't achieve an immediate effect. Generally, the increase is no more than 1 hour at a time, and it should be stable for 5-7 days after the increase.
The principle of light entering the laying period is that it should only be extended gradually until it reaches 16: 17 hours per day and night, and can not be stopped suddenly, early and late, and the light intensity can not be strong or weak, but only gradually strong, otherwise the physiological function of the laying duck will be disturbed and the laying rate will be affected.
Reasonable light system can make young ducks start production in time and increase egg production; unreasonable light system will advance or postpone the sexual maturity of young ducks, reduce production and even cause molting of laying ducks.
2. Temperature
The most suitable temperature for laying ducks is 13-20 ℃, when the laying rate and feed utilization ratio are in the best state. Therefore, it is necessary to create conditions as far as possible, especially to do a good job of windbreak and heat preservation in winter, to provide an ideal environmental temperature for laying eggs, so as to obtain the highest laying rate.
Health factors
It is impossible to produce high yield without a healthy body. Therefore, in the stage of cultivating young ducks, it is necessary to do a good job in the prevention of major infectious diseases. After entering the laying period, we should do a good job in environmental hygiene and feeding management, increase disease resistance and minimize the occurrence of diseases in order to maintain high and stable yield.
