The yield of laying duck is not only affected by breed, feed, management technology and age, but also varies greatly among individuals. Therefore, it can be identified according to the body shape and appearance of the egg duck.

The high-yield egg duck has large protruding eyes, small head, slender neck, long body, wide back, wide chest, full and balanced development and agile action. During the laying period, the high-yield duck has a large and soft belly, plump and drooping buttocks without mopping the floor, and a large cloaca, moist and soft, showing a half-open shape. The belly of the low-yield duck is small and hard, the cloaca is tight and contracted, and the wrinkles are dry.

During the laying period, the pubic distance of high-yield ducks is wide, soft and flexible, and can hold 3-4 fingers. The ends of the pubis and sternum are 12-13 cm wide, while the low-yield ducks are less than 10 cm wide.
