Grate lotus grass

Also known as Yao flat grass, bitter grass. With slender stolons, basal leaves, ribbon-shaped, thin leaves, up to 2 m long, 8m wide, 14mm wide, green translucent, commonly grown on both sides of the river channel and in the quieter water around the lake.

Black algae

Also known as Shuiwangsun, water lantern grass. The stem is 1.5 meters long and has few branches; leaves 4 are 8 whorled, banded-lanceolate, 1mm in length and 1.5mm in width, with denticulate margin and obvious middle ribs. Born in ponds, lakes, ditches.

Goldfish algae

Commonly known as goldfish grass. Perennial aquatic herbs, plants submerged in water, tips sometimes slightly exposed to the water surface. The stem is smooth and slender, up to 60 cm, with sparse short branches; the leaves are whorled, with scattered spiny teeth on the margin, and the teeth are more partial to one side. Growing in the still water of small lakes, ponds and ditches are also common.

Sophora leaf

The flat stem lies in the water, rootless; the leaves are whorled on the node, three in a whorl, two of them are floating leaves, long oval, the top is round and obtuse, the base is shallow, there are spiny hairs on the veins, and there are brownish pilose under the leaves. Growing on the surface of ponds, rice fields, ditches, still water streams, etc., it is the favorite aquatic plant for ducklings.
