Duck infectious serositis is a disease caused by Riemerella anatipestifer.

The range of infectious serositis in ducks

Ducks of all breeds, genders and ages can be infected, but they mainly affect ducklings aged 2 to 3 weeks, with an incidence of more than 90% and a mortality rate of 5% to 75%.

Symptoms of infectious serositis in ducks

The duck suffers from mental malaise, loss of appetite or even wasted food, serous secretions in the eyes and nose, green dung, and often neurological symptoms such as ataxia, convulsions, reversal of the horn arch, and so on.

Prevention and treatment of infectious serositis in ducks

1. Feeding and management should be strengthened to reduce or avoid stress as much as possible.

2. Disinfect the water area regularly.

3. Double inactivated vaccine was used for immune prevention.

4. Riemerella anatipestifer is also easy to produce drug resistance, so it is necessary to carry out drug sensitivity test to select therapeutic drugs.
