Pigeon is a very common bird, which is the general name of hundreds of birds of the family Pigeonidae. As a new breeding project, pigeon breeding has been developed in China for more than 20 years. Although it has experienced twists and turns, it has developed rapidly in recent years. It has become a new project to get rich, and it has been favored by more and more friends who like breeding. Let's take a look at how to let pigeons reproduce quickly.

How to make pigeons pair quickly

1. Pairing cage: first of all, you can buy a pairing cage and raise the male and female pigeons together. if the male and female pigeons are emotionally unstable, they can be raised in separate columns until they are more familiar with the new environment.

2. selection of season: the pairing of male and female pigeons also has a lot to do with the seasons. generally speaking, spring is the easiest to succeed, while winter is the most difficult, so it is necessary to promote its reproduction in spring as far as possible. warm measures to keep pigeon houses in autumn and winter can avoid the influence of seasons.

3. Good feeding: if you want pigeons to mate as soon as possible, you can consider feeding chopped onions or hemp kernels and avoid injecting drugs as far as possible, because they have certain side effects.

How to make pigeons reproduce quickly?

1. Mating period: mature pigeons, according to the purpose of the breeders, match the male and female into a pair and lock them in a pigeon cage to make them have feelings and even mate and lay eggs. This period is the mating period. Most pigeons can develop feelings during the mating period, become a loving "couple", live together, produce together, and never part. This stage takes about 10 to 12 days.

2. Incubation period: this is the period in which male and female pigeons mate and lay fertilized eggs, and then hatch in turn. This period is about 17-18 days. The stage of rearing from the birth of squab to being able to live independently. After the baby pigeon is born, the male and female pigeons produce pigeon milk, take care of the squab together, and feed them in turn. During this period, pigeons begin to mate again, and after 2 to 3 weeks of age, they lay another nest of eggs, which takes 20 to 30 days.

3. Nestling period: it takes 4 months from birth to development of squab, and only 3 months for some precocious breeds. At this time, pigeons have all the characteristics of mature pigeons, will be in estrus, mate, and have the ability to reproduce. However, it is not appropriate for pigeons that are just approaching maturity to pair and breed. They should wait until they are fully mature before they can be paired and produced.

The reason why pigeons don't lay eggs

1. Endocrine abnormality: the occurrence of azoospermia in male pigeons is closely related to endocrine, which is mainly caused by the lack of vitamins and trace elements. It is suggested that vitamin supplements should be added during breeding, such as deep-sea cod liver essence pills, beer yeast, Vigan essence and so on.

2, hormone secretion deficiency: insufficient estrus or insufficient hormone secretion in the body, you can use methyl testosterone tablets, one and a half tablets a day, plus vitamin E to treat. We also need to strengthen protein and minerals in the feed, so that it will get better.

3, caused by lack of nutrition: it is recommended to increase vitamin supplements during breeding, such as vitamin An and D, one tablet at a time, 3 days a week, health sand should not be broken, shell powder and sterilized egg skin can be added inside. It usually gets better after doing this.

4, organ pathological changes: whether female pigeons or male pigeons are found to be organic diseases, such as congenital birth canal deformities of female pigeons, or fallopian tube occlusion caused by disease infection, if not very important pigeons, do not need to spend too much effort.

Matters needing attention in pigeon breeding

1. Avoid early mating: sexual maturity does not mean physical maturity. In order to avoid early mating, young pigeons at the age of 3-4 months should leave their males and females for breeding. Generally, at the age of 6 months, their bodies have been fully developed before they can mate and reproduce normally. It is best to introduce young pigeons at the age of 3 ~ 4 months in the new pigeon farm, the number of males and females are equal, and they can be matched purposefully after reaching the age of 6 months.

2. Spawning management: pigeons lay 2 eggs per litter under normal conditions. Generally, the first egg is laid at noon or dusk on the first day, no eggs are laid on the second day, and the second egg is laid after noon on the third day. The time difference is 48 hours. Pigeon eggs are white, oval in shape and weigh about 15 to 20 grams.

3. Hatching management: after laying every 2 eggs, males and females take turns to hold eggs, and the incubation period is about 18 days. After 4-5 days, the egg can be illuminated for the first time, the egg will be facing the light, if the egg has reddish brown blood vessels, evenly distributed, spider web-like, and stable appearance, that is, fertilized egg. On the tenth day of hatching, light was used to illuminate again. If one side of the egg was found to be black, and the other side formed a brighter vacancy due to the enlargement of the air chamber, it was a normally developed egg, and the young pigeon came out of its shell in about 18 days.

4, do a good job of epidemic prevention: always check whether there is bedding grass in the nest basin, when there is no bedding grass, it is easy to break the seed eggs and affect the breeding rate. At the same time, we should pay attention to the nest basin stable and fixed position, nest basin is not stable, easy to break or fall to death of young pigeons. Nest basin is not fixed, but also easy to lead to breeding pigeons mistakenly into the struggle, affecting reproduction.

5, feed nutrition: the content of crude protein is 1820% in order to make pigeons get enough nutrition and prepare rich pigeon milk for the birth of young pigeons. If pigeons are found to lay 1 egg per litter, or soft shell eggs and sand shell eggs, this is a problem of nutrition and health care sand, and the solution is to supply nutritious feed and high quality health care sand.
