The rabbit is the general name of all the genera of the mammalian rabbit family, the intestinal wall is very thin, and the consequences of diarrhea and diarrhea are often more serious than other animals, so when the rabbit has diarrhea, measures must be taken within 4 hours, otherwise it will be life-dangerous. there are many reasons for rabbit diarrhea, let's take a look at how to do rabbit diarrhea!

The cause of rabbit diarrhea

1, change feed: often give priority to dry roughage, suddenly feed green feed, rabbits due to overeating caused by abdominal distension and diarrhea, some rabbits are more likely to cause diarrhea. In the change of feed should be gradually increased or decreased, step by step, preferably within 7 ~ 10 days.

2. Feed poisoning: the forage itself contains toxic substances, such as some poisonous weeds, budding potatoes, etc., followed by poisoning caused by feeding rabbits with forage contaminated by pesticides or other drugs, and the forage produces certain toxins in the process of processing and storage.

3, too much concentrate: the rabbit is a herbivore with its unique digestive physiological characteristics, and the proportion of concentrate is too large, especially those with more starch, such as corn, which are not digested and absorbed in the small intestine, which is bound to increase the burden of hindgut and cause diarrhea caused by digestive disorders.

4. Sudden changes in the environment: sudden changes in the weather, cold and cold, and other stress reactions (shock, cold and heat, long-distance transportation, etc.) can cause diarrhea in rabbits.

5. Bacteriosis: rabbit diarrhea is mainly caused by Escherichia coli, Clostridium welchii, taizellosis, salmonellosis, rabbit xanthuria, rabbit coccidiosis and so on.

Symptoms of diarrhea in rabbits

1. Improper feeding: most of the stools are mushy, stacked or striped, thin and soft, mainly due to improper care or feeding.

2. Escherichia coli: at the beginning of the disease, the feces are thin and shapeless, and the symptoms in the middle and later stages are droppings like hamster faeces, pointed at both ends, wrapped in jelly or mucus-like things (that is, what we often call jelly stool), and gradually converted to watery faeces. Feces are very smelly, and the coat near the anus is covered with mucus or yellowish-brown watery dung.

3. Clostridium welchii: faeces are as thin as water, discharge black (brown) water, jelly-like feces with blood, a special fishy smell, body temperature is not high. Gently shake the body of the rabbit can hear the sound of "clanging" water, pick up the affected rabbit, feces will flow out of the anus.

4. Teisseria: it mainly occurs in young rabbits from 20 days old to 3 months old, which occurs frequently in late autumn and early spring, and is mainly characterized by severe watery diarrhea, brown water sample stool, dehydration and rapid weight loss.

5. Salmonella: fecal water samples, foamy mucous feces, stench, grayish white or light yellow.

6, rabbit yellow urine: pull yellow water-like feces, yellow urine, thin body, wet coat, often soaked by yellow urine around the anus, bad smell, soft as mud, mostly in a coma in the later stage, the course of the disease is 2-3 days, if not treated in time, often die of dehydration.

7. Rabbit coccidiosis: the feces are dry and hard first, then water samples, or dry and water samples occur alternately, sometimes with blood.

What if the rabbit has diarrhea?

1. Be sure to put the rabbit in a warm place and put the electric blanket under it if possible, so that the abdomen will not continue to catch cold and can relieve abdominal pain. The second was oral lactobacillus tablets 2 tablets, Jiangzhong Jianwei Xiaoshi tablets 2 tablets twice a day, 2 tablets each time, until the feces were normal, and the tablets were crushed into a small amount of water and fed with a needle (remove the needle).

2. Take orally 2-4 lactase tablets twice a day until the feces are normal. Crush the tablets into a small amount of water and feed them with a needle (remove the needle). Because the milk enzyme is sweet, some rabbits will take the initiative to eat, feeding is also more convenient, but the effect is not as good as lactobacillus.

3. Diarrhea caused by bacteriosis can be injected with related vaccines to pet hospitals, such as colibacillosis to pet hospitals for cefotaxime injection, Clostridium welchii injection of kanamycin, and infusion for body fluids at the same time, but the best way for this disease is to inject Clostridium welchii vaccine, which can prevent rabbits from suffering from the disease.

4. If coccidiosis causes diarrhea, it is recommended to use sulfonamides for prevention and treatment. At present, sulfamethoxazine sodium is ideal, which is effective in the treatment of coccidiosis outbreaks. It is used to prevent coccidiosis in rabbits at the first week of each month after drinking mixed water for 3 days and then drinking for 3 days. Rabbits aged 1 ~ 4 months can avoid coccidiosis once a month, and coccidiosis can be completely avoided if coccidiosis can be prevented.
